Two LEGO Marvel X-Men Minifigures Revealed

CM4S on Eurobricks has linked to an preliminary image of the LEGO Marvel X-Men sets that were rumored last year. The image shows an updated Magento minifigure as well as the first Storm LEGO minifigure. The image also shows what looks to be part of the Blackbird. The sets may be based on the X-Men: Days of Future Past movie coming out in May. Also the bottom of the image shows part of the box which has Wolverine wearing his fur jacket similar to the image below. The Brick Fan 2013 Recap

So 2013 is now over and now time to take a look back at what took place last year on The Brick Fan. Many things happened in 2013 but the biggest thing was the amount of traffic that we got on the site. We had over 185% increase of page views from 2012 to 2013. In addition, the site had over 235% more unique visits than in 2012. Finally, we had over 185% more first time visitors than in the previous year. We look forward to improving those numbers in 2014.

We’ve also hit some traffic milestones during 2013. We hit 1 million page views in June and 2 million during December. In addition, we also hit 1.5 million page views and almost 1.3 million unique visits in a single year.

Next up is the number of “likes” on our Facebook Page. From 2012 to 2013, we had 545 new likes and are looking to gradually increase that number over the course of the year.

Over on our Google+ Page, we have over 2600 +1 on the page itself and over 200 have us in their Circles. That’s a lot considering Google+ is not as popular as Facebook but social media trends are changing as we speak and we hope to grow that community this year.

On Twitter, we had over 600 new followers and will most likely pass 3,000 sometime this year.

Measuring our visitors, as of this writing, the site is ranked 41,035 in the United States on Quantcast and 337,265 … Continue

The LEGO Movie Johnny Thunder Minifigure Close Up Look

Untitled

A few days ago, we found out that Johnny Thunder would be making his return in a future LEGO Movie set in the Police Dropship after an 11 year absense. In the image provided by just2good from the The LEGO Movie: The Essential Guide, we can see that Johnny has a cleaned up look with some updated printed on his torso as well as his head. Everything looks more crisp and his eyes even has larger pupils. His building style describes him as an expert in building for survival in the wilderness. Also, there is no hiding place too dangerous or remote for him.

In the same image, you can also see the Green Lantern. There’s no mention of him being in a set at this time but there were rumors that he would be in one in 2014. His building style is described as he is able to build almost anything out of thin air using a special, super-powered ring (Green Lantern Ring/Power Ring). Additional notes says that he likes to be near Superman.

LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes Batman: Man-Bat Attack (76011) Review

The new 2014 LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes sets are starting to hit shelves and the first and only one I was able to find was the Batman: Man-Bat Attack (76011) at my local LEGO Store. The set contains 184 pieces and retails for $19.99 which comes out to about $0.11/piece which is pretty decent for a licensed set. The box includes two numbered bags, one instruction booklet, a comic, and a small sticker sheet.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023) Round Up

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023)

Yesterday we finally completed the LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023) with Jango Fett being this year’s Santa. Like with other many other LEGO sets, there are hits and misses with the Advent Calendar.

Hits

There are a couple of builds and minifigures that I liked in the calendar such as the Republic Assault Ship, the AT-TE/Republic Dropship combo, Jedi Starfighter, and Jango’s Slave I. There are also quite a few army-builder minifigures including some fairly rare ones in the redesigned Scout Trooper and the Rebel Commando. Plus you can’t forget the return of young Boba Fett and Santa Jango Fett.

Misses

There weren’t that many things I didn’t like for this year but some little things get repetitive with the calendars. One of those things is the weapons racks. I feel the weapons should be included with the minifigures and those certain days could be used for other builds. Also those Battle Droids keep sneaking in the calendars. They may be great for others but they aren’t really for me.

Results

After comparing this year’s calendar to previous years, in my opinion, it is better than last year but a notch lower than the 2011 version. In number of pieces, the 2013 version has 254 pieces which is right in between the previous years. You may able to find them discounted in stores in the near future if you want to get one.
