LEGO Not Part of San Diego Comic Con 2023 Exclusives Portal (For Now?)

The San Diego Comic Con 2023 exclusives portal is now live and it doesn’t look like LEGO will have any exclusives for sale this year. We’re still a few weeks away from the event and there’s still time for companies to add themselves to the list since we have until July 16 to submit our entries but so far, it’s not looking promising. There’s a chance that they could do something directly at their booth but that would be a mess and I can already hear the security say “you can’t stand here, keep moving.”

The last time that LEGO did any exclusives was back in 2019 before the pandemic closed everything down the year after. Back then, they had a few exclusives that lucky fans were able to purchase as well as minifigures that were given away at random. LEGO did sell their exclusives online in 2020 at various retailers and they went rather quickly with some of them managing to restock a few times. Other than that, it’s been quiet the past few years and it looks to be the same this year. Again, I’ve heard that they were done with exclusives altogether because of the reselling that people do during the con and they weren’t happy with that but that’s just a rumor that was relayed to me a few times.

LEGO July 2023 Sets Live on LEGO Shop

July is now here and LEGO has just released a small number new sets on the LEGO Shop, some of which are very popular according to early reactions. As far as LEGO July 2023 promotions are concerned, the LEGO Disney 100 Years Celebration (40600) is the only one that is going on and you can it from July 1-9 with purchases of $100 on LEGO Disney products. One thing to note is that the Disney Hocus Pocus – The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage (21341) does trigger the promotion so that’s a huge plus for those who were wondering. Remember to use Rakuten to earn some cash back on your purchases.

LEGO Confirmed for Exhibit Floor at San Diego Comic Con 2023

The Exhibit Floor layout has been released for San Diego Comic Con 2023 and we can confirm that LEGO will be on display once again. They’ll be at their usual spot at Booth #2829 although we don’t know yet what will be on display there. If I had to make a guess, I would think there will be something involving LEGO DREAMZzz since it’s their newest IP.

In addition, we’re not sure if there will be any exclusive LEGO sets or minifigures that will be given away like with previous years. If you remember, LEGO didn’t have anything last year besides some panels and I’ve heard rumors that they were done with exclusives so we’ll see since companies have been starting to ramp up their reveals as we speak.

I will be there once as press so I’ll be attending most, if not all, the LEGO panels and will be reporting on them as they go on. Many readers seem to like the live tweeting of them, especially the Ninjago panels so follow me on Twitter if you haven’t yet.

LEGO July 2023 Shopping Guide

July is only a few days away and there are some new LEGO sets that will be dropping here in the US on the LEGO Shop. It’s not a big wave but there are some heavy hitters that may keep you busy for a while. The next big release wave is in August for North America when inventory changes roll out for the holiday season.

As far as LEGO July 2023 promotions are concerned, there is the LEGO Disney 100 Years Celebration (40600) that hasn’t been offiically revealed yet. It’s been reported that it is a GWP when you get the Disney Castle (43222).

BUILDING 100 YEARS OF WONDER!
NEW LEGO DISNEY CASTLE SET

The LEGO Group today revealed an all-new LEGO Disney Castle set, to celebrate 100 Years of Disney. The new 4,837-piece set is a celebration of the playful joy and creativity that the LEGO Group and Disney have inspired in families around the world over the past 24 years. Since the first LEGO Winnie the Pooh set was unveiled in 1999 to the hidden time capsule in the new LEGO Disney Castle, the two brands have helped fans share the wonder of Disney storytelling by inspiring children, and adults, to reimagine fan-favourite moments through LEGO play.

The new LEGO Disney Castle set is a homage to the iconic castle at the beginning of all Disney movies. The 4,837-piece features not only the castle building, but also references from 14 classic Disney films over the last 100 years, such as Steamboat Willie
