LEGO Star Wars May the 4th BB-8 Promotion Rumor

We’re already a few days into April but you may have noticed that there’s no May 2018 LEGO Store Calendar that I usually report on at the beginning of the month. That’s because LEGO is keeping it under wraps for now for surprise promotions for the LEGO Star Wars May the 4th event however there are already rumors of what one of the promotions will be. Word has it that BB-8 may be the polybag that will be given out as a gift with purchase and the size would be similar to R2-D2 (30611) from last year. The build would be similar to the BB-8 from the Bricktober 2017 event last year but with printed parts. Stay tuned as we get closer to May for any reveals.

LEGO Announces Partnership With Funko to Produce Vinyl Minifigure Characters

BILLUND, DENMARK (April 1, 2018) – The LEGO Group is happy to announce that we will be partnering with Funko, Inc. to produce vinyl figures and bobbleheads of LEGO minifigures in a brand new line that fans will enjoy.

We have some exciting products in the pipeline from popular themes including LEGO Ninjago, The LEGO Batman Movie, as well as for The LEGO Movie Sequel that is set to premiere in theaters next year.

The LEGO BrickHeadz theme will also release sets based on original Funko characters like Freddy Funko and Pulpo but in the the BrickHeadz style.

“We are very excited to announce this historic partnership as it brings two of the world’s most notable brands together to create some very unique products.”

This is a very exciting announcement as we are eager to share the first product images during San Diego Comic Con 2018. Feel free to swing by the LEGO booth as well as the Funko booth to get an exclusive sneak peek at these new innovative products. The first LEGO/Funko products will be available starting in September.

LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358) Promotion Live on Shop@Home

LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358)

The LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358) promotion is now live on LEGO Shop@Home. From now until April 15, you can get it for free with purchase of $75 or more, while supplies last. Like with the 40 Years of the Brick promotion, I have a feeling that this promo will sell out fairly quickly.

The set comes with a LEGO designer minifigure along with some microfigures of the Classic Policeman, Pirate, Spaceman, P.I.X.A.L., and a Nurse. There’s also some parts for the design table and it uses the box itself as a layout.

To help you reach the $75 threshold, LEGO has released some new products including Go Brick Me (41597), the Avengers: Infinity War LEGO BrickHeadz, and the Series 18 Collectible Minifigures (71021).

LEGO The Incredibles Video Game Box Art

LEGO The Incredibles Video Game

Last week, the internet kind of broke with the reveal of the teaser of the LEGO The Incredibles Video Game comign from the back of the instructions for LEGO Juniors Incredibles 2 sets. There weren’t many details except that it would be coming out for the PlayStation 4, PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and XBox One.

There’s some new information that came out of Amazon Canada which revealed that the potential release date would be on June 15 which is the same day the movie comes out in theaters. Also on those listings, they’ve also revealed the box art for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The covers show Mr. Incredible in a bulkier LEGO form, Elastigirl, Violet Parr, Dashiell Parr, and Jack-Jack in the foreground with Frozone hovering the in background.

I’ve been told that the official announcement of the game from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be coming out soon so stay tuned for that. There’s no word on an exclusive minifigure to go with the game but I wouldn’t mind having a LEGO minifigure of Frozone since we haven’t had one before.

LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2 Minutes

LEGO Star Wars Snoke's Throne Room (75216)

Today in anticipation of Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi coming to home media next week, LEGO and Star Wars has released a new video called LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2 Minutes which is basically an abridged version of the movie. In the middle of the video, we get to the scene in Snoke’s throne room and we may have gotten a sneak peek at the rumored set coming later this year tentatively called the same thing or The Throne Room Duel (75216). The set may not look exactly the same way but it’s assumed that it’ll look somewhat similar. For the play features of the set, it is said that it has a revolving elevator and another feature that drags Rey to the throne and the minifigures will include Snoke, Rey, Kylo Ren, and a couple of Praetorian Guards. Check out the video below.
