The LEGO Batman Movie Costumes Now Available on Amazon

The LEGO Batman Movie Costume

Last year, I reported that Disguise would be releasing official costumes for The LEGO Batman Movie and it looks like they are now available over on Amazon. Currently, I can only find the Batman costume but there will also be Batgirl as well.

Like with the LEGO Ninjago costume I reviewed last year, Batman will come in three sizes in both Deluxe and Prestige versions. The costume has six pieces to it including the tunic with detachable cape, pants, mask, and a pair of hands. The Prestige version will have the minifigure leg design.

Who says costumes are only for Halloween. With The LEGO Batman MOvie hitting theaters next month, why not have your own little Batman with you while watching the movie.

Deluxe Small (4-6)
Deluxe Medium (7-8)
Deluxe Large (10-12)

Presige Small (4-6)
Presige Medium (7-8)
Presige Large (10-12)

The LEGO Batman Movie Toys Coming to McDonald’s

It looks like LEGO and McDonald’s will be teaming up again this year for some toys for The LEGO Batman Movie. I’ve been sent the above image showing a part of a Happy Meal box which shows there will be some sort of promotion for the movie next month but doesn’t say what it will be.

If you remember from 2014, LEGO did a McDonald’s promotion for The LEGO Movie with some Action Cups. Hopefully we get something similar or better for The LEGO Batman Movie. I’m sure fans would want some actual LEGO but that hasn’t happened for a long time.

If anyone knows the source of the image, please let me know and I’ll give proper credit.

Update: We now have our first look at the toys. Check them out here.

LEGO Seasonal Romantic Valentine Picnic (40236) Review

LEGO Seasonal Romantic Valentine Picnic (40236)

For my first review of the year, I have the new LEGO Seasonal Romantic Valentine Picnic (40236)icon. This year’s Seasonal sets goes back to the vignette style sets that were more popular than the character builds from last year. The set contains 126 pieces and retails for $9.99. The contents of the box include three un-numbered bags, an 8×8 green plate, and the instructions. The back of the instructions show the next LEGO Seasonal set with the Easter Egg Hunt (40237).

LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) Building Instructions

LEGO Creator Mini VW Beetle (40252)

You may have seen an image of the LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) floating around the internet for the past few weeks or so. The set is basically a smaller version of the Volkswagen Beetle (10252) which was released last year. The set is currently available in Hong Kong with a purchase of HK$2800 (~US$360) but word is that it will be going to Europe later this month and who knows if it will reach North America.

Luckily for everyone, LEGO has uploaded the building instructions in PDF form. I’ve also posted an images of the parts list for reference. The Mini Volkswagen Beetle does include stickers so you won’t be able to recreate the set completely but you can still build it. Some of the dark azure parts are fairly rare as well so building it in a different color is recommended too and I feel that many of you will be doing this.

New LEGO Boost (17101) System Revealed

Last week, I reported on LEGO’s teaser of an announcement coming tomorrow but it looks like Engadget has already revealed it. The announcement is for a new theme called LEGO Boost (17101) which is somewhat similar to LEGO Mindstorms but geared towards younger kids. The base starter set will be priced at $159.99 and will be available later this year.

The set will have three Boost bricks in addition to 840 LEGO elements. The core unit is called the Move Hub which has a six-axis tilt sensor, two input and output ports, a power button and a light that changes color which was teased before. Powered by six AAA batteries, the other Boost bricks also have a combination color and distance sensor as well as an interactive motor which includes a tachometer.

The set also has instructions for five other models including Vernie the Robot, Frankie the Cat, the Guitar 4000, the Multi-Tool Rover 4, and an Autobuilder. To make the whole system work, there’s also a companion LEGO Boost app for you to download. The app is actually required as it has all the building instructions for the models as well as the programming.

You can read more about the details of individual models for LEGO Boost in the link above.

New Rumors of LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon Coming

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Star Wars and rumors have started to swirl about a LEGO Star Wars UCS set that has been rumored for a while. It’s pretty easy from the image above that it’s the Millennium Falcon. There are various users on Eurobricks who have some information about the new UCS Millennium Falcon. Paperballpark mentions that it’ll have interchagable radar dishes, one round and one rectangular, so you can display it as it is shown in Episodes 4-6 or in Episode 7.

To give more speculation on the UCS Millennium Falcon, the box on the updated UCS Death Star (75159)icon shows a blacked out silhouette of the Falcon on the bottom left corner that is more prominent than the silhouettes of the other ships. This could absolutely mean nothing at all or LEGO could be hinting at it for a while.

Given that the original 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon is one of the most definitive sets in LEGO Star Wars history and a holy grail for many fans, a new one would be great news. Fans weren’t too happy with the re-release of the Death Star since it wasn’t retired for that long but it’s safe to say that they would welcome a re-release of the UCS Falcon with open arms and wallets. There are many factors that contribute to the set being legit such as the Star Wars 40th anniversary and reports from good sources like Paperballpark and a “friend” that makes me think the set will be coming sooner than … Continue
