LEGO Ghostbusters Minifigures Custom Arm Printing by NACM

If you are picking up the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) on June 1st or any time after, you’ll notice that the minifigures do not have the Ghostbusters logo on the arms like they do in the movies. This is where NACM – Not Another Custom Minifig comes in. They are selling custom arms for the minifigures with the Ghostbusters logo patch. Each pair of arms are pad printed on genuine LEGO parts so they’ll look like the real thing. There are four minifigures in the Ecto-1 set so you’ll need to purchase four pairs of arms if you want each character to have them.

I ordered four pairs in anticipation and it came out to €18.50 or $25.90 including shipping to California. I’m not sure if shipping is lesser if you’re on the other side of the country or if it’s a flat €6.50 shipping cost. If you’re a Ghostbusters fan, you’ll probably want the arms because the minifigures do look off without them. Brent Waller, the designer of the LEGO CUUSOO/Ideas set, approves of the arms and they look great (see below). You can purchase them here.

LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) Box Art and Set Comparison

Brent Waller has recently received his copy of the official LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) set and he has uploaded images comparing his LEGO CUUSOO/Ideas project to the official set designed by Marcos Bessa. As we mentioned yesterday the Ecto-1 will be available on June 1st for $49.99. We can now see the official packaging of the set which looks freaking amazing and no longer has the LEGO CUUSOO branding. The back of the box shows the car as well as Ray, Peter, and Winston crossing the streams of their particle beams. The back of the box also commemorates the 30th anniversary of the movie. Check out the images of the original project submission (left) and official set (right) below.

Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Project on LEGO CUUSOO

Brent Waller whose idea of the latest LEGO CUUSOO set to be released, the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, is back with another project on CUUSOO. He has listed another Ghostbusters themed project, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. As you may know, Mr. Stay Puft was chosen as the Gozer’s Destructor Form when Ray Stantz let an image of it “just pop in there.”

Brent’s version of Mr. Stay Puft stands over 34cm (13 inches) tall and has fully articulated head, arms, hands, legs, and feet. I am astonished beyond the capacity for rational thought of this project and if you have the same feeling, be sure to support the project as well. Stay tuned as Brent has given a teaser for some minifigures to be included in the future. Can you guess who they are?

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters MOC by Sergio Herencias

With the news that a LEGO version of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) becoming an official set, many people have took it upon themselves to build their own Firehouse Headquarters to have it ready for when the vehicle is available this summer. Sergio Herencias is one of these people. From inspiration from Dr. Dave Watford and Brent Waller, he has created his version the Firehouse which is a hybrid of both Ghostbusters movies. From the descriptions, the building is 38cm x 33.6cm x 17.5cm and consists of 3467 pieces. The total time it took for him to build was around 20 hours. The floors are removable and it also includes lights from LifeLites. Sergio also has plans to include lights in the Ecto-1 as well. Check out the timelapse video of him building his Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters MOC below.

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Will Be Next LEGO CUUSOO Set!

The LEGO CUUSOO Fall 2013 results are in and the next official LEGO CUUSOO set is Brent Waller’s Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary set! Unfortunately, from what was shown in the video (see below), only the ECTO-1 and the minifigures will be in the final product which means the iconic firehouse would be left out. There were a total of seven projects up for review which was a record including Female Minifigure Set, Poptropica: Dr. Hare’s Lair, The Road to Oz, ATLAS Mini Model Education Outreach, Ghostbusters, FTL – Faster Than Light, and Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary. The Female Minifigure Set by Alatariel is still being evaluated. The Land Rover Defender 110 project from the Spring 2012 review was also rejected.

Below are the images from Brent’s project and not a representation of the final product. There were a lot of very good submissions that was going up against the project but somehow it was worthy enough to become official CUUSOO Set #007. The final ECTO-1 car model was largely based on the original design of the car. LEGO is still working out the final design, pricing, and availability for the set. Congratulations to Brent for joining the exclusive club of designers who has gotten their project to become an official LEGO set!
