New LEGO Store Pick-A-Brick Wall Third Quarter Elements

LEGO Pick-A-Brick Wall

As we mentioned yesterday, it is a new quarter at the LEGO Stores and some LEGO elements on the Pick-A-Brick wall have been changed out with some new ones that we haven’t seen before on the walls. All the elements that have a sign around them will be available in all the LEGO Stores.

Some of these new elements include a trans-light blue jewel, reddish-brown staircases, pink flowers, and the new reddish-brown horses. As you can see from my pictures below, the stock on my horses were extremely low so if you want to stock up on them, you better hurry. I expect them to be very good sellers throughout the quarter. Head over to your local LEGO Store to check out all the new stuff the PAB Wall has to offer. Props to Genevieve for being in charge of changing the elements out at my store.

LEGO Pick-A-Brick Wall Changes

New Pick-A-Brick

If you have been to a LEGO Brand Store recently, you might have seen some new changes to the Pick-A-Brick wall. For people who frequent the wall, you may have noticed that the price per cup has been raised $1.00 from its previous price. The smaller cups are now $8.99 each and the larger ones are $15.99. Another change is that the wall will have certain brick elements that are the same for every Brand Store and will be rotated simutaneously throughout the year. These elements will give kids some inspiration of what they can build and the labels suggest what they could go well with such as LEGO City or Star Wars.

For people who buy in bulk of the elements at the store, the prices for the cases has also gone up from the usual $75 to $100 price tag now. Even with the price increase, the cases are still a pretty good value if you need a lot of a certain element. How do you guys feel about these changes to the PAB Wall? Let us know in the comments below.

Shout out to Genevieve who does a great job in keeping our wall filled with cool and interesting pieces.

The LEGO Movie Themed Community Window at Fashion Valley LEGO Store

Fashion Valley LEGO Store Community Window

The Community Window at my local LEGO Store in San Diego (Fashion Valley) has been changed out and the new model is The LEGO Movie themed. It was created by Tommy who is a fellow member of SandLUG. The build is actually an interactive model where he has placed 12 Emmet minifigures throughout the whole model. The store even has a cool little contest where they are giving away the remaining Benny posters they have to children who can find all 12 Emmets. If you’re in the area, stop by the store and check out Tommy’s model and see if you can find all 12 “hidden” Emmets. Technically, I found 14 mentions of him but who’s counting 😉

March LEGO User Group Showcase at Fashion Valley Store

Fashion Valley LEGO Store Showcase

Spring is here and we’ve have a cool looking new model at the Fashion Valley LEGO Store showcase. This model was created by members of L Gauge which is a group of members in the LEGO Community here in the San Diego area who are working together to create a museum for visitors to see the history of LEGO.

This month’s model at the store is a scene showing minifigures having a fun time at the beach just like what we have here in sunny San Diego. Check out the images below.

LEGO Store Fashion Valley Named Brand Retail Store of the Year 2013

LEGO Brand Retail Store of the Year 2013 (Fashion Valley, San Diego)

I’ve just gotten news that my local LEGO Store in Fashion Valley (San Diego, CA) has won the LEGO Brand Retail Store of the Year for 2013! LEGO takes in many factors to choose the winner and the surveys we fill out after our purchases do factor into account. It isn’t a surprise that the Fashion Valley store won because the staff there is simply awesome from all the Brick Specialists and to Mike the Store Manager. I hang out there a lot (more often than I should) and I’ve seen first-hand of how the employees take care of their customers from answering questions customers may have to a simple thing like the check out process. If you have a chance to go to this store in Fashion Valley, show your support by congratulating the staff there. They do great work and they truly deserve the award!

LEGO Store Exclusive Holiday VIP Shopping Event

LEGO Store Exclusive Holiday Shopping Event

Today in the mail, I received a curious envelope featuring the solid red minifigure. Inside was in invitation to an exclusive Holiday shopping event for VIP members at the local LEGO Store. The shopping event is invitation-only and it allows me and one guest early access to the store to take advantage of special holiday offers as well as free gifts. I’m not sure what specials or gifts the store will be having but I’m curious to see. As to my knowledge of past LEGO “events,” not all VIP Members will be getting an invitation to the event (VIP Keychain). Only members who have spend a certain amount during a certain period will be able to join in on the festivities. Like with many special shopping events, there are restrictions. There’s a spending limit of $5000 and no more than five of each set to per person.
