LEGO Ideas Second 2017 Review Stage Winner Announced

LEGO has just announced the latest winner of the LEGO Ideas Second 2017 Review Stage. There were six projects that qualified for the review and the winner is…nobody. I could be wrong but as far as I remember, this is the second time that no projects have passed a review stage with the first one being the First 2015 Review Stage. The review board takes into account various factors on whether or not a project passes including:

– Products currently available in stores
– New (and confidential) products currently being developed internally
– Licensing possibilities and conflicts
– Production capacity
– Build quality
– Feasibility
– Playability
– Expected demand
– Brand fit

You can read more about the explanations of each category in the link above. If you watch the video below of Hasan giving a brief explanation, you can see a hint of a future set that’s coming out that has been bleeped out at 2:20. If any mouth readers can tell what he said, let us know in the comments below.

The Third 2017 Review Stage is well underway and those results will be announced this summer. The projects that qualify for the review are included in the image below.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Buildable Figure Sales on Amazon

For even more LEGO deals from Amazon, there are some new 2018 Star Wars Buildable Figures that you may be interested in picking up. One of the more notable sets that is on sale is Boba Fett (75533). It is going for $23.99 which is 20% off the regular price. As of this writing, there are only 13 left of this set available at this price.

Darth Vader (75534) is also on sale with it going for $31.99. It is still a little expensive for what you get, even at 20% off, but it’s better than the regular price of $39.99.

Next up is the Elite Praetorian Guard (75529) which is only $20, also 20% off the normal price. You may need a few of these guys to recreate the scene from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Finally, we have everyone’s favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca (75530). He is actually only 19% off coming in at $28.49. Again, he’s a bit more expensive but he is also a larger Buildable Figure.

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) Official Image

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249)

Late last year, an image of the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) surfaced online and now we have the official image of the set. Brickshop.nl has listed the set available starting in March but we’ll see if there is a promotion for it on Shop@Home when the March Store Calendar is available in a few weeks. The set basically consists of a minifigure with a new torso and a pair of bunny ears along with a paintbrush and an egg as accessories. Like before, the minifigure will come in a cardboard box.

For last year’s Iconic Easter (5004468) set, it was originally available for purchase at Toys R Us at the end of February and subsequently a promo at TRU. It eventually became an unannounced promotion on Shop@Home which only lasted for a few days.

I’ll let you guys know when it will become available and at what retailer as soon as there’s news about it.

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) Official Image

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038)

Last night, I reported on some of the details for the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) skyline set and now we have the official image of the set courtesy of Promobricks. As I mentioned before, the set will consist of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, the Mandalay Bay Hotel, the Luxor Hotel, the Encore Hotel, the Stratosphere Tower, and the Fremont Street Experience. As far as the building choices are concerned, I feel there are much more iconic buildings that LEGO could have used and there are too many to list off.

The set will have 487 pieces and retail for €39.99 and it also includes a printed 1×2 tile of the Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada sign as well as the 1×8 tile of the set. The release date is still up in the air due to the events at the Mandalay Bay last year causing it to be delayed. I’ll let you know when it becomes available.

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) Set Details

The first wave of the 2018 LEGO Architecture sets was supposed to consist of two sets Las Vegas (21038) Shanghai (21039) but for whatever reason, the Vegas set was delayed. There hasn’t been much information about the set until now courtesy of Promobricks. According to a German eBay pre-order listing, Las Vegas will consist of 487 pieces and the buildings in the Skyline layout will include the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, the Mandalay Bay Hotel, the Luxor Las Vegas Hotel, the Encore Las Vegas Hotel, the Stratosphere Tower, and the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas.

As an eBay Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

The pricing of it is €39.99 so it’ll probably be $39.99 when it is released here in the US. The listing shows that it will be available at the end of January but I’ve heard that it won’t be out until the spring or possibly this summer. Either way, we’re still holding out for the official images of the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038).
