LEGO Double VIP Points Event Rumored for March

The March 2020 LEGO Store Calendar was released yesterday and we got to see some of the promotions but it didn’t show anything about any Double VIP points since we haven’t gotten it for a few months. I have on good intel that we will be getting a LEGO Double Point event next month from March 20-29. We don’t have any official details on it at this time but we’ll probably get an email as we get closer to the start date.

LEGO Taking Feedback on LEGO VIP Program

The new LEGO VIP Program has been sort of a letdown since the changes went live in the middle of last year. Yes, they do offer rewards in lieu of VIP points but a majority of them are pretty much downloadable wallpapers which nobody really wants. There have been a few physical rewards with the best one being the LEGO DC Comics Bat-Pod (5004590) which was available for a few hours after the new VIP Program went live.

LEGO is now taking feedback on the LEGO VIP Program from the AFOL community on your experiences and opinions on it and how to improve it. Comment below and we’ll send over a summary to the team. The deadline to submit your comments is March 20 so you still have some time to think about it.

Updated LEGO VIP Program – One Month Later

It has been exactly one month since the new LEGO VIP Program went live and it hasn’t went as smoothly as fans wanted it to be. As its current iteration, it has been met with more negative responses and positive ones.

First is the conversion system from dollars to points. For the US, it is 6.5 points per dollar but a lot of people still are still confused to why they are not getting an 1:1 ratio. Technically we still are but it’s just more convoluted since we have to convert it to the Danish Krone.

Another problem was that a lot of people still haven’t been able to switch over to the new program. I’ve saw a customer in store that was ready to make a purchase but was met with this problem as their account wasn’t found and I’m not sure if they ever completed the transaction. This is actually a pretty big problem because people want to earn points with their purchase but they can’t since their account doesn’t work. People would rather shop somewhere else like Amazon where discounts are almost always present.

Next up are the rewards. LEGO updated the program to give people more control on how they spent their points. The main thing is using the points to get a discount on a purchase but you had to redeem it before you go to the store but before you could just just the discount there. This adds another step which wasn’t really needed in the first place.

LEGO VIP Reward Terms Changed

LEGO VIP 2019-2

The new LEGO VIP Program has been running for a few weeks and it has been met with mixed reactions in the fan community. One of the downsides it had when you redeemed a reward was that you had only 30 days to use it or else your points and rewards were lost forever. LEGO has made a change to this and has extended it from 30 days to 60 days to give you flexibility on when you can use it. As of this writing, the terms still haven’t been changed so I would suggest waiting after it has been changed before you redeem anything.

We’ve listened to our fans and are extending the reward redemption terms from 30 days to 60 days. This includes discount rewards in our LEGO Stores, for phone orders, and on shop.LEGO.com. Please be patient as we work to change the terms on the VIP Rewards Center. There may be some exclusions to this policy, such as rewards that are redeemable with our partners or where legally we cannot change the terms (i.e. sweepstakes).

New LEGO VIP Program Now Live

LEGO VIP 2019

The new LEGO VIP Program is now live and there are some new things to look forward to including exclusive rewards and sweepstakes. First off, all the VIP points you had are now converted to points to use to redeem items in the rewards center. Some of these items include art prints and exclusive promotional items like the VIP set as well as the LEGO DC Super Heroes Bat-Pod which costs 15,000. As you can see from the image below, I redeemed it using my points but it seems to be glitchy as I should’ve received a promo code to use during checkout but I didn’t get it. I’ve already contacted customer service to see what they say about it.

There are now more ways to earn points besides just making purchases. Some of these things include social media activities like retweeting or sharing posts as well as just clicking on emails that come in from LEGO. Points from your purchases are converted as follows:

US $1 = 6.5 points
CAD $1 = 5 points
£1 = 8 points
€1 = 7.5 points
AU $1 = 4.5 points
NZ $1 = 4 points
10 zl = 1.5 points
1 DKK = 1 point

Points are earned on eligible purchases. Eligible purchases are defined as any service or merchandise available for purchase, excluding gift cards. Points will be earned on purchases made with gift cards at the time the gift card is redeemed. Please note, shipping and taxes are excluded from earning points.

New LEGO VIP Program Teaser

If you’re a LEGO VIP member, you may have received an email recently regarding the new LEGO VIP program. First of all, it looks like LEGO is moving away from the red color scheme we’re used to see with the VIP program and going to a blue color scheme.

In the email, they mention some of the new things that are coming to the program such as teasing about more ways to earn points every day, experiences and members-only gifts, and chose how may points to use instead of a reaching a certain level of points.

We already know that the VIP card will be going digital but you can still use a physical one if you want. Also the VIP points expiration clock will reset every time you make a purchase so basically the points stay active for 18 months as long as you make a purchase within that time frame.

Make sure your VIP account is registered as these new features will be rolling out very soon.
