Earlier today, LEGO has published official images of two The LEGO Batman Movie sets which are The Batmobile (70905) and The Joker Notorious Lowrider (70906). We’ll see the two sets being displayed at San Diego Comic Con this weekend. Below is a little description of the two sets.
The Batmobile (70905) has 581 pieces and it includes minifigures of Batman, Robin, Man-Bat, and the Kabuki Twins. Batman has a new belt attachment piece while Robin wears some of the new green goggles which we saw before. Man-Bat looks like the same one we’ve in in a previous set while The Kabuki Twins are brand new. We’ll see how the assassins will play part in the movie later on. The Batmobile will retail for $59.99.
The Joker Notorious Lowrider (70906) has 433 pieces and will retail for $49.99. It is the one that we saw an image of yesterday with the character reveal and it includes minifigures of Batgirl, The Joker, and Harley Quinn. All three minifigures have new printing on them and the Lowrider is an interesting looking build as well.

Is that Robin based on Carrie Kelly?
No, it’s a very weirdly designed Richard Grayson.
(I wrote another comment with the actual name, but it got caught in the spam filter)
As far as i am concerned, its going to be my Carrie Kelly stand-in.
Jokers Lowrider is perfect 🙂

Im very happy that I have another chance to get Man-Bat and a Batgirl because I wasn’t able to get them in their previous sets. I think its interesting to see a removable utility belt. I really like Jokers head and hair piece from what I can see of it, but Im not to impressed with Harley. I think the Jokers Lowrider looks amazing!
Man-Bat is very disappointing. They’ve done two bat-creatures using the same hair and arms in other themes (CMF S8, and Monster Fighters), so it’s kinda sad that they’re reissuing the first Man-Bat instead of coming up with a new look (maybe based on B:TAS as so many other Batman/DCS minifigs are?). Harley-6 may not be the best design of the bunch, but it’s certainly a more distinct version than Harley-2 was, the new hair looks really cool, and the whole Roller-Girl-gone-badder look really works for her. Besides, they’ve touched on most of her truly iconic looks, and the most significant hole in the lineup (Margot Robbie Suicide Squad) is patently off-limits for anything besides an SDCC exclusive minifig.
The lowrider is great – any indication of release date, or whether it will coincide with the film release?
Oh, I see what they’re doing. The legos are supposed to look like their voice actors. Robin is supoosed to look like Michael Cera, and Batgirl looks like Rosario Dawson, that’s why her skin is darker than normal. They did the same thing with the characters in the lego movie.
Or maybey Batgirls face is darker becuse it was printed on that dark purple? You know how batmans is dark becuase its printed on the black?
I don’t know, maybe? They showed that their not afraid to deviate from the characters traditional looks (see Robin), plus, Batman’s face usually is lighter than that, and printed on black, this purple isn’t that dark. I suppose we’ll find out eventually though.
No, there are two different Batman heads that have printed faces on black. The Scuba Batman head looks a bit paler than normal, while the one with two faces looks extra crispy like the new KFC Colonel. It’s definitely a paint choice, not the base bleeding through.
But why would they WANT to make him look pale of extra crispy? The first captain america, face printed on dark blue looks crispy, but the newer one printed on a lighter blue looks normal.
Why does it matter? The point is it’s most definitely not the result of the base head being black that’s causing the skintone to look so dark. There’s also a SW trooper head that comes in goth and sun-worshiper variants. There simply seems to be some internal disagreement as to whether extra pale or extra tanned looks like a better match for fleshie heads. And yes, changing the base color can affect the shading of the final result, but they have clearly demonstrated that it’s not the only variable, and indeed not even the most critical one.
These look great! Awesome use of parts in both sets. I’ll definitely be getting the lowrider.
It’s great that the stickers aren’t essential on the Lowrider. Can go right into town without them. That Batmobile is massive.
I remember watching the Kabuki twins on the show “The Batman” i SO want that batmobile for them and the nostalgia!!!!!!
I wish they would tame the doctor who hairpeice and color it green, now THAT would be perfect Joker hair.
