LEGO Worlds Video Game Advertisement Revealed

Untitled

Over on Eurobricks, a user has found an advertisement for a new video game by TT Games called LEGO Worlds on the back of the instructions of the LEGO City Square (60097) set. There isn’t much to go on from the image but from what I can infer from it is that LEGO Worlds will be some sort of open world sandbox game in which the player can “explore, discover, and create.”

The image also gives a link to LEGO World’s minipage but it doesn’t work yet since the sets aren’t officially released let. I assume we’ll have more details about the game around the beginning of June.

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game DLC Revealed

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game DLC

It’s not a surprise that DLCs are synonymous with video games these days and there’s already one announced for the LEGO Jurassic Worldicon video game. In this one, there are six characters that you can unlock: Scott Mitchell, Karen Mitchell, Tourist Sam, Tourist Emma, Hotdog Vendor, and an alternate costume for Owen Grady. There are also two vehicles included in the DLC, Jurassic World Shuttle and Jurassic Response Unit.

Unfortuantely, it appears that this LEGO Jurassic World DLC Pack is for the European release of the game. There hasn’t been anything announced for the US version of the game but I totally expect some DLCs or even a Season Pass for it when the game is released on June 12.

LEGO Jurassic World Gallimimus Trap Polybag (30320) Review

LEGO Jurassic World Gallimimus Trap Polybag (30320)

If you pre-order the LEGO Jurassic World video game from GameStopicon from now until the game is released on June 12, they’ll also throw in a bonus for buying the game which is the Gallimimus Trap (30320) polybag. It consists of 29 pieces and the main draw of the set is the “Gallimimus” dinosaur mold. Clearly this particular dinosaur isn’t a Gallimimus but a re-colored Coelophysis from the 2012 LEGO Dino sets. Although Gallimimus is an omnivore, it was toothless and mainly feasted on plants, insects, and smaller animals. This version of the dinosaur has some very sharp teeth shown with a green and brown skin color. Whatever you decide to call it, it is exclusive to this polybag as it does not appear in any other LEGO Jurassic Worldicon sets.

On the trap itself, it holds a piece of meat on the back and when the Gallimimus goes in to eat it, the chains come down to trap it. What’s nice about the set is the white Jurassic World printed 2×2 tile which I believe is exclusive to this set. Correct me if I’m wrong on that note as I have not purchased any LEGO Jurassic World sets yet. Other than that, the trap isn’t that spectacular but that’s how polybag usually are.

Overall, the Gallimimus Trap (30320) polybag is a neat one considering that if you’re planning on getting the LEGO Jurassic World video game from GameStopicon, it’s already included with your order. The dinosaur itself is exclusive to this There … Continue

LEGO Minifigures Online Game Changing to Buy-to-Play

If you’re still playing LEGO Minifigures Online, there are some important changes you may want to know about that’s coming to the game this summer. Before, the game used to be a free-to-play business model but that will be going away in favor of the buy-to-play model which means that you buy the game first before playing. Memberships and Diamonds that you collect in-game will be going away. Any Diamonds that you still have will be converted to stars. If you have spent and money on memberships or other in-game items, your copy of LEGO Minifigures Online will be converted to the fully purchased version so it won’t affect you that much.

Personally, I think this is a bad move because the current version of the game allows players to try it out first before spending any money on it. You could also unlock characters from purchasing Collectible Minifigures and you can still unlock characters with codes you find. You can read more about the changes over on their blog.

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game Pre-Order Exclusives Not Really Exclusives?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word “exclusive” means 1) excluding or having power to exclude or 2) limiting or limited to possession, control, or use by a single individual or group. Back in March, GameStop announced that their pre-order bonus for the upcoming LEGO Jurassic Worldicon video game would be the Gallimimus Trap Polybag (30320) which clearly states that it’s a GameStop exclusive. Brickset’s listing has the same exact polybag being available at Toy R Us Canada that was going to be available this month. A Reddit post confirms Brickset’s availability note and is currently selling for $5.99 CA. A comment in the same thread states that the Gallimimus Trap will also be available at US TRU for a promo starting the week of June 21.

This brings up the question of what exactly is an exclusive anymore? To me, it means that the particular item is unique and attached to one promo and wouldn’t be sold anywhere else which was the case of previously released LEGO games. For the LEGO Jurassic World video game, all of the known exclusives so far aren’t really exclusives as they are available already or will be available at another retailer such as Toys R Us. For example, the Dr. Wu Target exclusive is the same minifigure as in the Indominus rex Breakout (75919)icon. Personally, I’ll be doing the GameStop pre-order for the polybag but it stings a little that the polybag bonus isn’t really an exclusive. I guess it’s a good thing for LEGO collectors in … Continue

The image shows many of the main characters from the original Jurassic Park movie including John Hammond, Tim, Lex, Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, Ellie Sattler, Dennis Nedry, and Robert Muldoon. The scene shows all the survivors having a nice picnic in front of the park while Nedry is being chased by a Dilophosaurus and Muldoon is surrounded by Velociraptors.
