Doctor Who Galore on LEGO CUUSOO

A few days ago, we reported that LEGO CUUSOO has changed their License Conflicts and Resolutions and have begun accepting projects based on Doctor Who. Whovians who are also fans of LEGO can now rejoice as it may seem that there could be an official Doctor Who set released sometime in the future. Since the announcement, there have been a myriad of projects that have already been submitted to CUUSOO. Check out all the projects and show your support if you like what you see. If you also have an idea that could be worthy of the number of supporters needed, then feel free to submit your project and perhaps your idea could be the one that gets to 10,000 supporters first!

LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future Projects Featuring Orion Pax

In light of Team BTTF’s Jules Verne Train getting 10,000 supporters on their project, there is another creator on LEGO CUUSOO who also has some Back to the Future projects hoping to achieve what Team BTTF has done three times already and that person is Orion Pax, aka Alex Jones. If you’re fans of LEGO MOCs, you may have heard of Orion’s name since we’ve featured him on the site a few times before. On CUUSOO, he has listed a number of projects themed with “2015” which is the 30th anniversary of the first Back to the Future movie.

One of those projects is the Nike MAG that Marty wore in the second film. These particular shoes are confirmed to be re-released by Nike next year with power laces. Orion’s other BTTF projects include various buildings from Back to the Future II such as the Cafe 80s, the cinema showing Jaws 19, the Texaco station, and the iconic Hill Valley Courthouse.

Go check out these projects and support them if you like what you see. Also remember that Team BTTF also has some other neat projects that you can support as well. Overall, it’s cool to see that many fans are embracing the fact that a renowned movie like Back to the Future will be reaching its 30th anniversary and are creating things that bring back memories of when we first saw the movie and hopes that fans like us can actually have one of these sets in our hands.

LEGO CUUSOO BTTF – Jules Verne Train Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The BTTF – Jules Verne Train by Team BTTF becomes the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO. It now joins the LEGO Bird Project and the Modular Apple Store in the review stage on May 5th. Coincidentally, Jules Verne is also the first train-type project to get 10,000 supporters. The Train was seen at the very end of Back to the Future III when Doc Brown along with his family, Clara, Jules, and Verne, comes back from the Old West to visit Marty and Jennifer.

The Jules Verne Train is now the third project by Team BTTF to achieve this feat along with their DeLorean-Time-Machine (21103) as well as the UCS DeLorean Time Machine. By getting the required amount of supporters on this project shows that LEGO fans, especially AFOLs, appreciate projects that are based on things we are familiar with and all grew up with such as the Back to the Future movies.

Congratulations yet again to Team BTTF for reaching their goal! The Invisible Hand now becomes the highest supported project on CUUSOO.

Congratulations on 10,000 supporters, m.togami!

2014.02.28

Congratulations on reaching 10,000 supporters for yet another fantastic Back to the Future model. This train engine is beautifully built and has so much character. It really captures what must be the second most iconic vehicle from the Back to the Future trilogy.

We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.

What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A “LEGO Review Board”

LEGO CUUSOO Now Accepting Doctor Who Projects

LEGO CUUSOO has updated the License Conflicts and Resolutions section of their Knowledge Base and something interesting has surfaced. Before today, projects on CUUSOO that were based on Doctor Who themes may have been turned down or rejected due it having conflict with other companies who had the license to produce Doctor Who products such as Character Building. We can now report that LEGO CUUSOO now welcomes projects based on Doctor Who which probably means that Character Building does not have the license anymore. Does this also mean that we could maybe possibly see Doctor Who sets in the future? Who knows but at least people can now submit projects based on the very popular TV show and can hope that it will pass the review stage to become an official CUUSOO set!

LEGO Ghostbusters HQ Instructions by Brent Waller

It has been announced that Brent Waller’s Ghostbusters Ecto-1 will be the next LEGO CUUSOO project to be released as an official set but will not include the iconic Firehouse. Many people were disappointed but don’t worry. Assuming you have the correct amount of pieces, Brent has provided instructions for the Firehouse for FREE on his website in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) format. You can see in the image below that the Ghostbusters HQ/Firehouse is taller than the Town Hall (10224) modular building so it makes a great addition to your city!

LEGO CUUSOO Modular Apple Store Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Modular Apple Store project by gotoandbuild is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO. It now joins the LEGO Bird Project in the review stage. The project features a two-floor Apple Store which includes a glass spiral staircase. Also included are Apple founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak as minifigures. The layout of the store is your standard Apple Store that you can find in malls throughout the world. There are tables with computers in the middle of the store and the Genius Bar in the back.

Although the project has successfully achieved 10,000 supporters, I do not see it passing the review stage because of the IP that it is attached to. Congratulations to gotoandbuild for this achievement though. The BTTF – Jules Verne Train now becomes the highest supported project on CUUSOO.
