LEGO Ideas/Chronicle Books Puzzle Fan Vote Extended Due to Plagiarism

A few days ago, LEGO Ideas announced that they have extended the deadline for the fan vote on Chronicle Books puzzle competition. This is due to one of the submissions being disqualified due to plagiarism which was The Deer in the Nature category by Les Briques de Loïc. It was ruled that the creation was not entirely the creator’s own work. Fans have tracked down the original work by Grantmasters and although there are differences to them, you can also see the similarities between the two.

The fan vote has been extended to Tuesday, August 24 at 11am CET and people who voted for The Deer will get another vote for the remaining 39 projects. The winners of the competition will be announced no later than September 8.

LEGO Ideas Home Alone McCallister’s House (21330) Updated Rumors

Last month, we reported on some rumors about the upcoming LEGO Ideas Home Alone McCallister’s House and it looks like there are some updates to them. From a recent post by brick_clicker on Instagram, it looks like the details reported before were for the Black Stratocast (21329) which included a September release for VIPs at $100 price point.

The Home Alone house is now reported to have a 21330 set number with a November release. The price of it is now at $250 which is now on point with what we should expect in terms of detailing for the house and not just a facade if it was at $100. It also will have a November release date which is also fair due to the movie being a Christmas movie. Lastly, it is said that it will have five minifigures. We can for sure count in Kevin and the two Wet Bandits, Marv and Harry, but who do you think are the last two? If you were worried about the set being small, what do you think about it now?

LEGO Ideas/Chronicle Books Puzzle Fan Vote Live

Back in June, LEGO Ideas started a building contest for Chronicle Books to create an idea for a puzzle to be released at a future date. The entries are now set and the fan vote for the contest is now live. There are 40 total entries spread out in four categories which include Space, Retro, Nature, and Architecture. You have only once chance to cast your vote so choose wisely. Voting will end on August 19 and there will be one winner in each category. Since there are two announcements, the fan vote winners will not necessarily be made into a puzzle.

BrickLink Designer Program Round 1 Sold Out?

It’s been a week since the first round restart of the BrickLink Designer Program and it looks like all five project have sold out or did it? The site says that they have all sold out but there was still a lot of pre-orders open for the Sheriff’s Safe, Kakapo, and Pursuit of Flight as of yesterday. I’m pretty sure that this is just a programming error on their part because you are still able to add them to the LEGO Shop cart if you have the direct links. Lucky for you, we have them readily available and you can continue to purchase them.

Sheriff’s Safe (910016) – $49.99
Kakapo (910017) – $79.99
Pursuit of Flight (910028) – $54.99

In addition, Round 2 crowdfunding is listed as August 15 but we already know that it was pushed to September because of the extended rounds. Round 3 looks to be at the correct pace for a November 1 crowdfunding according to the new structure image in the link post.
