LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) Review

Way back in August of last year, there was talk about the Series 2 LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures (71009) even though Series 1 was still in stores. That was when speculation started up of who will be included in Series 2 before LEGO officially revealed them back in March.

There are 60 minifigures in a box and you can pretty much find three complete sets in a full unopened box. Each of the packets are $3.99 and they contain a random character from the wave. I’ve managed to collect all 16 from Series 2 on my first try with the help of my feel guide which hopefully you can use as well to find the character(s) you want.

LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) Showing Up at Target But…

There have been reports that the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009) has started to show up at various Target stores and being displayed on endcaps like the ones you see in the image above and on the shelves. Unfortunately, many of the stores have a strict release date of May 1st so they won’t even sell them even if they’re displayed on the floor which is such a tease. However you might get real lucky and find some stores that will sell them but that’s pretty rare. The Target DPCI for the Series 2 Simpsons minifigures is 204-00-1379 if you have trouble finding them when they are officially released in May. Thanks to Multigasmgeek for the DPCI number.

While you’re there, why not go see if the LEGO City Go-Kart Racer (30314) is available there as well as there have been reports that the polybag has started to show up. The DPCI number for the polybag is 204-00-0291.

LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) Now Available for VIP Members

The LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) is now available for purchase for LEGO VIP members on Shop@Home and at LEGO Brand Stores. The Kwik-E-Mart is the second D2C set in the Simpsons theme with the first one being last year’s The Simpsons House (71006). This set will have 2179 pieces and will set you back $199.99. Make sure you are logged in to your account so you can purchase it. It’ll be available for the general public on May 1st.

LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) Designer Video

Last week, LEGO officially announced the LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) but there wasn’t a designer video to go with it yet. Today, the video is finally up for the Springfield convenience store and Marcos Bessa has given you some details of the set including various references from different episodes of The Simpsons animated series.

LEGO The Simpsons Series 2 Minifigures (71009) Feel Guide

Now that the LEGO The Simpsons Series 2 Minifigures (71009) have been officially revealed, it’s time to do our best to help you guys figure out which minifigures are in each packet with this handy feel guide. Although this wave of LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures has lots of new characters for you to find, they seem to be a little harder to feel than the first series given the assortment of parts that are available with the characters.

The LEGO The Simpsons Series 2 Minifigures (71009) will be available on May 1st but as usual, some retailers like Toys R Us, Walgreens, Walmart, and Target will probably be selling them mid-to-late April.

1. Homer

You would think that the 2×2 tile would be an easy giveaway to finding Homer but think again since there are five other characters that have a similar part. His round head is the thing you should be feeling for while confirming with the tile piece.

2. Marge

Marge should be fairly easy to find with her long, distinct head/hair piece.

3. Lisa

Lisa’s cat, Snowball II, would be the easiest thing to feel for since her head piece is really similar to Maggie’s.

4. Maggie

Maggie’s head is almost identical to Lisa’s so you should be feeling for Santa’s Little Helper. Her body is also a good indicator because it is just one piece that is uniquely shaped.

5. Bartman

Bartman is really easy to find with his spiky head piece. The slingshot is also helpful.

LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) Officially Announced

Back in October, I said this was coming. There were doubters but there were also fans anxious to see if it was real. Today LEGO officially revealed the LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) to the public. The set contains 2,179 pieces and will retail for $199.99. The Kwik-E-Mart will be able to open up and see all the glorious details of the convenience store including a sticker panel of Frostillicus. The Kwik-E-Mart (71016) will be available for LEGO VIP members from April 15-30 according to the April 2015 LEGO Store Calendar and to the general public on May 1st. In other LEGO Simpsons news today, LEGO officially revealed the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 (71009). We first talked about the list of characters included in the second wave back in December. They will be available on May 1st with some popping up in various retailers in late April.
