LEGO Reveals The LEGO Movie Merchandise

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that The LEGO Group has announced that there will be LEGO sets and other merchandise tied in to upcoming The LEGO Movie set to be released on February 7, 2014. There will be 17 different sets ranging from City, Wild West, and Space and one of them named the “Wyldstyle Chase” will be on display at the LEGO booth (#2829) this Saturday at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con. There will also be a special line of 16 Collectible Minifigures that will also be based on the movie cast as well as “new-again” LEGO characters.

Other merchandise will include a video game from TT Games that will have over 90 playable characters and have 15 levels to play. The game will be available in 2014 on the current generation consoles and handhelds as well as the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Then there are the usual books, clothes, and school supplies that will have images from The LEGO Movie. Below is the official press release for the merchandise for the movie.

2013 San Diego Comic Con LEGO Statues on Display

There has been a lot of news being released for the 2013 San Diego Comic Con and we’re not done reporting them just yet and mostly likely won’t be done until next week. There will be statues of a 7 ft tall Henry Cavill Superman and a 6 1/2 ft Iron Man on display starting on Preview Night on Wednesday around the LEGO booth. You will be able to pose and take pictures with them as you please.

LEGO Super Heroes DC Universe – Batman: The Riddler Chase Revealed

USA Today has revealed the set that a new LEGO Super Heroes DC Universe set will be unveiled at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con, the Batman: The Riddler Chase. The set will contain 304 pieces and retail for $29.99 and is slated for a January 2014 release. It will feature three minifigures: Batman, the Riddler, and the long awaited Flash minifigure. The vehicles that are in the set are a Batmobile and a green drag racer for the Riddler. LEGO fans will be happy to see that the Flash minifigure will make his first appearance in a Super Heroes set and are that much closer to completing the Justice League.

Update: Some eagle eyes on Brickset and Eurobricks noticed that the Bat symbol on the Batmobile looks a lot like Batgirl’s symbol. Also, if you look closely at the minifigure sitting in the vehicle, it has a lot of yellow which looks similar to Batgirl’s cape. We will soon know what minifigure is in the Batmobile in the next few days.

LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future Time Machine (21103)

GRogall over at Eurobricks has revealed the official images of the LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine (21103). The set contains 401 pieces and will retail for £34.99 and contains 2 minfigures: Marty McFly and Emmett “Doc” Brown. There has been reports that the set will be available on July 18th on Shop@Home but there are also rumors that it will not be available until August 1st. LEGO may also be selling the set early at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con as a SDCC exclusive early release for attendees. ~~We will confirm the actual release date as soon as it becomes available to the public.~~ The set will be available in limited quantities for purchase early at SDCC and will be available globally on August 1st.

More Marvel Comic LEGO Variant Covers

As the 2013 San Diego Comic Con rolls closer, Marvel is slowly releasing more LEGO variant covers for their upcoming comics. The reason for the variant covers is to promote the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game that will be released in October. Here you can see the covers for Wolverine & the X-Men #26, Daredevil #31, and Nova #8. Back in June, we got our first look at the variant covers for X-Men #5, Indestructible Hulk #14, and Hawkeye #15. All the covers will be illustrated by Leo Castellani, Christopher Jones, and Adam DeKracker and expect the comics to be released in September.

Update: Comics Alliance has revealed the cover for the Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble #1 issue. The image gives us a first look of a character that does not have a real life counterpart yet, the Falcon.

iFanBoy has revealed the cover for All-New X-Men #17 which features Magneto and is a homage to Jim Lee’s X-Men #1 issue.

San Diego Comic Con 2013 LEGO Exclusive Minifigures Revealed

USA Today has revealed the the exclusive minifigures that will be given away at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con and they are the Green Arrow and Black Suit Superman from DC Universe and Spider-Man and Spider-Woman from Marvel. Odds are that it will be like last year where you will have to scan your badge at the LEGO booth (#2829) and go back later to see if your name was chosen.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Reveals New Character

Yesterday, Marvel revealed the box art for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game and they have said they will be slowly revealing more characters in the game as we get closer to the release date. This went unnoticed but a couple of days ago, Game Director at TT Games Arthur Parsons has let loose another character for all to see. It is none other than Victor Creed also known as Sabretooth. He also confirmed that the game will be available on the next generation consoles including the Xbox One and the Playstation 4.

If you’re going to San Diego Comic Con 2013, you will be able to have a hands-on experience of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes at the Marvel booth (#2329), the LEGO booth (#2829), and at the Xbox Gaming Lounge at the Hyatt all four days of the Con. At the Marvel video games panel on Saturday, there will most likely be more new characters being shown off.
