Remember back in April when an image of Supergirl came out for LEGO Dimensions? Well it looks like we now have information on how to get the minifigure. Earlier today for Gamescom 2016, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released details on how to get Supergirl for LEGO Dimensions and they have sent over assets including in-game images.
It turns out that Supergirl will be an exclusive bonus for the Playstation 4 Starter Pack (71171) starting on September 27. Obviously, this is a terrible announcement for people who already purchased the Playstation 4 Starter Pack or for those with other systems. People will most likely not be spending more money on another Starter Pack just to get the minifigure so the secondary market will definitely benefit from it. There’s no doubt that many fans will not agree to this move and hopefully we’ll be able to get Supergirl in a separate expansion pack but that probably doesn’t seem likely. You can now pre-order the LEGO Dimensions PS4 Starter Pack with the Supergirl minifigure over on Amazon and it will be released the same day that the Year 2, Wave 6 expansion packs are available.

I really hate the PlayStation/Lego team up; first the ant-man level (which still hasn’t turned up yet), then there was the C-3PO level and now dimensions.
The other two I could live with but Dimensions is a new low since they are forgetting its a children’s game and children are missing out, and those who bought Lego dimensions are being rewarded with a person they can’t get for a realistic price!
Don’t act like you’re being punished. This is so people who weren’t previously introduced to the game can get into it. Don’t act so entitled to a piece of plastic.

Owners of the game are rewarded with the game. Stop trying to turn this into some slap-in-the-face move. The world does not owe you or your imaginary children a Supergirl video game level.

It’s not about the fact of owing, more so the fact of limiting. LEGO is limiting their consumers’ pleasure by making this certain character exclusive to only a certain console. Not only this, but it comes along with a $100 game that others may already have. Of course it was put in there to make the Dimensions game have an incentive to buy for new players, but for the old, this does seem like shooting us in the foot a bit. What would’ve been cooler and more understandable was an exclusive video game character, exclusive to EVERY console (Wii U, Xbox, AND Playstation get their own figures based on a exclusive game property they have)

That’s stupid. A lot of people play PS4, and this is a good way to promote it. You don’t like it? Your problem. You already bought your starter pack and you’re butthurt that LEGO’s promoting Playstation 4 so people who own it can get into the game? Your problem.
How rude. I haven’t bought the starter pack yet, and it’s unfortunate that super girl has been limited to only PS4, since I do not have one. Believe me, I understand WHY they did it. I think it’s a great idea to add an exclusive playable minifigure to the starter pack for Year 2. But I do not think it should only be for PS4. Get off your high horse asswipe.

Yes, he is hurt, along with hundreds of other people who already bought the game on PS4 or another console. Sony is starting to remind me of Disney in some senses.
It only hurts if you feel entitled to it. It’s not supposed to be your figure.
PlayStation has an agreement with Lego, its not Lego just choosing to promote PS4

I certainly understand being upset that you can’t get the thing. As a Nintendo-only guy, I’ve never been able to enjoy any of the DLC for any of the Lego games.
But I don’t understand the level of vitriol going around. Lego isn’t limiting it’s customer’s pleasures. Customers who have bought the starter pack already have had a year to enjoy it, along with TONS AND TONS of add-ons. One little figure they can’t have should not ruin their experience. Everything in the world cannot be made available to you, just because you want it. Get over it.
Of course not everything should be available for me, in fact I do not want the Supergirl minifigure anyways. It’s just the simple fact that I believe the figure, or at least other figures, should be exclusive to other starter packs as well. That’s my opinon, agree or disagree, whatever. Get over it.

It’s nothing new. In fact, it’s kinda working.

It’s not about being rewarded or punished. Supergirl exists to bring new people into the game, just like Green Arrow exists for convention attendees. You don’t have to like it, but it’s how it is.
I think Dave had a point though, that just one console gets an exclusive. i am a proud owner of a PS4, but I would be ok with that.

I’d be cool with it too, but this is only a problem because they’re upset another console’s getting a figure they feel entitled to.
It would be one thing if this figure was an exclusive for some new PS4 set, and not included in the starter pack. The biggest problem is that people who already have the game on PS4 have no way of getting the figure without buying the whole game AGAIN. That’s called Sony being greedy for money they already have plenty of.

But people shouldn’t have to buy off the secondary market. They should be able to get it in an “official” way.
That’s true, as well as the fact that supergirl seems to have the same powers as superman, and if the “kids” want this figure, they can always get brainiac attack or buy it on the secondary market if they’re that anxious

This definitely works out for me! I was holding out for price drops on PS4 starter packs and it got really tempting when I saw Target’s drop to $39.99. I still stayed the course and looks like I’ll benefit out of this little announcement here! I do agree that the Red Lantern Supergirl variant would be just too sweet!!!
Version, console, store or preorder exclusives and bonuses are nothing new in the video game industry. While yes it seems crappy and unfair for those without a PS4 or who already have the starter, it is what it is and from a business standpoint they have legitimate reasons for doing so.
If you want these practices to stop or change you need to write the companies involved and let them know how you feel. At least they are adding Supergirl to the hire a hero in the future.

I spotted a Supergirl Dimensions polybag on eBay shortly after they were given out, but couldn’t spring for it at the time. Since then I keep coming up with nothing whenever I search for it. Since they’re doing this, and it’s not much more than the Green Arrow polybags go for (which are still available in several listings), it was finally worth nabbing a Green Arrow, which I hope to be able to try out later this week. I’ve kinda wanted to buy a second copy of any version of the starter set for the parts, so I’ll just grab this one and I can stay 100% complete on the minifigs. Which reminds me, I should probably finish up the Midway level before the new stuff starts showing up..
