LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) Box Art and Set Comparison

Brent Waller has recently received his copy of the official LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) set and he has uploaded images comparing his LEGO CUUSOO/Ideas project to the official set designed by Marcos Bessa. As we mentioned yesterday the Ecto-1 will be available on June 1st for $49.99. We can now see the official packaging of the set which looks freaking amazing and no longer has the LEGO CUUSOO branding. The back of the box shows the car as well as Ray, Peter, and Winston crossing the streams of their particle beams. The back of the box also commemorates the 30th anniversary of the movie. Check out the images of the original project submission (left) and official set (right) below.

      Me too!

Both are great, but the original on the left is beautiful! The fins are much nicer/more authentic and the front grill being chrome is a lot nicer than the packaged version. Mr. Waller should be proud to have made such a great M.O.C.–that became an official set!

      I agree!

Does the official set come with the minifigure stand with the logo?
I actually like the official model because the scale looks more appropriate for minifigures. The original is a little too long and too high off the ground. Too bad the rear hatch doesn’t open in either version.
