LEGO has just announced the latest winner of the LEGO Ideas Second 2017 Review Stage. There were six projects that qualified for the review and the winner is…nobody. I could be wrong but as far as I remember, this is the second time that no projects have passed a review stage with the first one being the First 2015 Review Stage. The review board takes into account various factors on whether or not a project passes including:
– Products currently available in stores
– New (and confidential) products currently being developed internally
– Licensing possibilities and conflicts
– Production capacity
– Build quality
– Feasibility
– Playability
– Expected demand
– Brand fit
You can read more about the explanations of each category in the link above. If you watch the video below of Hasan giving a brief explanation, you can see a hint of a future set that’s coming out that has been bleeped out at 2:20. If any mouth readers can tell what he said, let us know in the comments below.
The Third 2017 Review Stage is well underway and those results will be announced this summer. The projects that qualify for the review are included in the image below.

What a waste of a review stage. I’m just still bitter didn’t get the original Jurassic Park Ford explorer
What a waste of a review period. Maybe I’m just still bitter about no original Jurassic Park Ford explorer
My wife really had her fingers crossed for Luke’s Diner, even though we knew it was a stretch. Oh well, I didn’t feel like any of the other projects this review period really wowed me and “I am Your Father” seemed to have been grandfathered in before the rule about existing properties.
Is he mouthing “Cloud City”? It’s hard to tell with the accent, but it would also fit with the “I am your father” set, or “X”.
I think he said Bespin.
I’m not sure, looks like more than one word to me. But hey, I see I indirectly created a post! xD
