When the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) was announced last week, some fans were wondering if there was anything exclusive that was included with the set. The first edition of the original 10179 Millennium Falcon included a Certificate of Authenticity which was signed by former LEGO president Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and Product Designer Jens Kronvold Frederiksen.
We haven’t heard anything about anything exclusive during the press release but it looks like Zusammengebaut has gotten some new information about something that will be included. If you saw my post of the brochure, the back of it shows a black LEGO VIP card which might have been a hint. According to a German Shop@Home ad, it seems that fans who are buying the set at LEGO Stores or on Shop@Home when it is officially released on September 14 for Early Access will also get a limited edition VIP card.
Whether that same promotion carries over to here in the US remains to be seen. I also wonder if there’s anything special printed on the back of the card or if it’s just a regular VIP card that we can use. We’ll just have to wait for our LEGO email or until the Shop@Home is updated to see if we get the same thing as our friends in Germany.
Update: I’ve been told that it will indeed be available here in the US. It is available to the customers who purchase the UCS Millennium Falcon until the end of 2017 and it will be mailed to you at a later date. The benefits of the black VIP card will include special LEGO Star Wars promotions in 2018 for cardholders only.

At my store in the US, the employees are telling people about the black VIP card, so it sounds like it is happening here too. My store also has a list to hold one for you on the 14th. I’m number 3 on the list!
Thanks for confirming!
Manager at my store said even if you buy 75192 in-store on the 14th, the black VIP will be mailed to you from Shop@Home.
They anticipate only 8 or so sets for the launch day, and will not be doing any sort of list in advance.
Which store?
Oh well, in that case I’ll certainly spend a mortgage payment on it. 😉
Yeah! Screw including a Luke or minifigures from all the movies, this card will get me to buy it!
If the figures are that much of a deal breaker for you, that’s kinda pathetic.
It’d be an improvement over my janky VIP card with the number written on the back because I lost the first one, and the ID is so low it has a bunch of zeros
Mine too! 🙂
Brethren!
Mine was like that too for a while. At some point a Lego store employee offered to replace it with a new one that would scan correctly. It took them about 3 seconds to get it to work with the existing account. Next time you’re in the store ask about a replacement.
It’s funnier to watch them try and scan it a few times, not understanding why it won’t work
Wow! So worth $800 now!!!
People actually use their card? I just give my email.
I think it’s more fun to watch them be confused when my card doesn’t scan because the number is written on with sharpie, forcing them to manually type it in
I just rattle off my VIP number.
It’s a good party trick.
My card is older than the only store in my state, so yeah (though most of the metallic red paint has worn off at this point). Also, if you’re in a LUG, there are perqs that do require handing over a physical card.
It’s always been worth $800 lol
No LEGO set has ever been worth $800 or ever will be worth $800.
And for $800 I expect the ship to include every main character from all the episodes, not just 5, 7 and 8.
1-3 didn’t have the Falcon, and there’s no reason to put them all in. The figures they chose are enough.
The quality of the build and the size and piece count make it worth it. If you’d buy a set like this for figures rather than the build, you need to rethink your priorities
Would be nice to get Lando and Nien Nunb though. They flew the Falcon once.
sure. the set still doesn’t need them and I’d buy it if I could.
Yep my store confirmed that the black VIP cards will be mailed to those who purchase the MF for early release. Would I mind a black VIP card? Sure, that’s cool. But is that it? All they’re throwing at us is the same card, but in black? There better be something else along with it, or who’s idea was this? About as dumb as those passports they were giving out a year or 2 ago.
I guess I could show off my super cool black VIP card while strolling through the Lego Store, at the same time advertising that I couldn’t even wait until double points and so I paid the highest possible price for the most expensive Lego set.
The VIP passports are still available, I believe. The last time I saw them being handed out was when the mall was hosting a build event, so you probably have to ask for them otherwise.
And they aren’t supposed to be about getting something back like with the VIP card. They’re mementos. For kids, it’d likely be more about which in-store events you’ve attended. For adults (who are excluded from many of the events), it might be about keeping a record of which stores you’ve visited. My dad is really into that sort of thing with regards to the national parks and monuments. Again, there’s no prize associated with getting the stamps in his park passport, but he enjoys it. And it’s probably a lot cheaper than my version, which is keychains and smashed pennies.
So, it’s basically just a different VIP card?
My local store didn’t specify exactly what the black VIP card would do, but I was told it would get you into special events and gifts with purchase throughout 2018. No word on what exactly those would be though.
The UK website says the Black VIP is for new members. They did just took down the wording though. Hopefully there’s clarity on that or perhaps different region has different arrangements.
My store told me that the VIP card would be available to new and existing members, and that you would apparently be able to keep your old card number.
Anybody planning on lining up for this given the extreme possibility of limited quantities? What time and how does that work if the stores in the mall and there are multiple entrances?
No more rumors and hearsay. Just spoke with LEGO directly. The VIP card will not be limited to the first 20,000 customers. It will be available to everyone who buys the set until the end of 2017. You will receive the new card with your current VIP ID number in the mail.
Guys. Just went to Lego shop Canada and noticed the coming soon for the UCS Millennium Falcon to be Oct 1! What’s going on? I thought it’s available tomorrow Sept. 14?
how to get the early access? I have already sign up the VIP card online.
Just make sure you’re logged in so you’re able to see the add to bag option. There’s no extra steps.
apparently early access is not at midnight EST. When is it available?
On 01SEP2017, I saw the new offers just after midnight Central Time. It wasn’t on the hour though. It was more like 1220 to 1230. So not sure what the intent is????
All my past experience on other “limited edition sets” has been midnight release but for some reason they seem to be trying to holding us in suspense and deprive us of sleep on this one…..
what is the local time there? I’m just a few minutes before midnight Central Time (US) and nothing has changed.
12:02am Central Time (US), and still no changes to Lego Site (coming 01OCT is status). I am logged in as VIP. Watching for a change……
I’m in Texas. Seeing the same thing. I guessing we wont see it available until 7:00 CST. (assuming the 8:00AM reference was EST)
Waiting for the time…..
Dont know if it means anything but if you change your region to the UK on the website, a message above Add To Wish List says “Early Access for VIPs starts from 7:30 am on 14th September”
That’s in 1hour and 12min in the UK…..
FYI. Not that I’m interested in scalping, but i also noticed that there is a max purchase quantity of 3 in every county except the US and Canada. Only 2 in the US and CA
Yes, only 2……
one to hang on the wall and one for a shadow box… 🙂
Do you have any news? I been on the site for almost 2 hours and nothing has change. ( Gotta work tomorrow LOL)
Same here! Nothing new other than what Ive posted already. Guess well have to wait for the sun to come up in the US.
I dont wanna go to bed and find out tomorrow morning that all its been sold out. Well played LEGO
so do you know what the time for the U.S. to release…?
My region is at the US, and I cannot see any Add says this.. did you just that add?
In the top left corner of shop.lego.com you can change your region to any country. if you are on the product page and you change your region to the United Kingdom you will see a message that gives a specific online release time.
I could not see any thing… does that relate to my poingts or rewards in my Vip card? Maybe I am not Vip yet… I really do not know…. cause I just sign up Vip online and do not have physical card.
Oh I saw it! But cannot see anything at the US region. Maybe different release time for different countries.
yeah. no telling. its a crap shoot at this point. If i didn’t have this completely unjustifiable addiction to Lego’s, I could be getting some good sleep right now. Best of luck!
Best of luck!!!!! It worth!!! Will this be sold out very fast after it released?
Ive called several lego stores in Texas and the DFW store and the Austin Store are only going to have 4ea in stock in the morning. That’s what made me decide to purchase online. I was also told that this release would most likely have a much larger & longer production run than the 2007 release. Since they are releasing this 15 days to “VIP” before the official release date, i would expect them to be pretty available to order over the next few months. I was told by a Lego store manager that even when it goes to “Out of Stock” status, it will show up as “back-order” again on the website shortly there after.
omg thank you so much!!!!!
you bet! ill be checking back in 5 hours.
you can purchase now!!! When can you see the Add says the exact time to release? About 2hours before?
you can purchase now???? i only see add to wishlist
yes.. you can add to the bag!
i cannot in the US. if i change my region the the UK it says i can but then redirects me to a page that says not available in your region.
i change my region to the U.K. and I could buy it..but now the internet is so busy….
the site just crashed so i guess i missed it. no longer able to log on the VIP account.
omg.. i cannot change the region back…
you’ll have to restart your browser but i don’t think you will be able to log in to your Lego account now.
Any updates?
i saw it said could add to the bag few minutes before… but know stays the same as the Add.
did u guys buy it?
cant log on to site. it appears to have crashed. still do not know if its available for online purchase in US.
i just got logged in again and No, it is not available to Add to Bag in the US, as of 1:54 am
as of 1:54 am? what is that mean?
still not able to add to bag at 1:54 am. its now 2:06 am and cannot add to bag. i can log on occasionally but it eventually gives me an error code saying: page not available….
its available now
what am i missing? i dont see it available on the website. im logged into my vip account
go into the promotions link, on the VIP page
did. still just comes up as add to wishlist. have you purchased?
Zack I’m having the same experience
10-4. glad to know its not just me
Just curious, what time zone are you in? I’m MST
CST. ive been watching since 11:00. Sets usually release at 12:00 EST but ive heard rumor that this set will not release until “around” 8:00am EST
Yeah I’m reading the same. It’s terrible since I’ve already kept myself up this long. I wish they’d show some consistency on these release times
yeah i hear ya. i guess they thought they could prevent complete site crash by not announcing specific release times. its fine now but at 2:00am CST
(Texas) the site crashed. im assuming it was an influx of west coasters trying to purchase at midnight PST.
You’re probably right. Good luck to ya
same to you!
U.K. may be the first one which could purchase online… there is no changes in the other countries.
Hi Zack, do you know when can we purchase through U.S. store?
So it does not matter whether I have the Vip card through stores or online, right?
When can we access? I checked several minutes ago, it still says coming soon on 1st.Oct….
yeah all Ive seen are a few forum post saying they’ve talked to Lego customer support and they said “around 8am on Sept 14th”. They did not specify time zone. Assuming EST
Oh thank you, I just worried that I could not access cause this is my first time to buy it online lol…
does anybody know when the U.S. release the set online for Vip? Will be today? 14th. Sep?
