LEGO Creator Parrot (30472) Polybag Review

LEGO Creator Parrot (30472) Polybag

If you were able to pick up the LEGO 2016 Wall Calendar last November/December, there were some coupons that you could redeem at LEGO Brand Stores this year for some promotional items. From January 1-March 31, you can get a FREE 43-piece Parrot (30472) polybag with any purchase, while supplies last.

LEGO Creator Parrot (30472) Polybag

The Parrot is very simple build with you just stacking bricks up. There is some articulation in the build with the tail being on a hinge so it can move up and down. The wings are on the newer ball joints and so you can rotate them in plenty of directions.

LEGO Creator Parrot (30472) Polybag

The Parrot (30472) is a middle-of-the-road polybag. It is kind of cute but nothing else beyond that. Since it is free with any purchase, especially will all the newly released sets, it’s a decent pick up. If you don’t have a coupon to redeem it, the building instructions are now available online so you can create your own.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman: Classic TV Series – Batcave (76052) First Look

As I mentioned a few days ago, LEGO Vip members would get early access to a new exclusive set in February and it was rumored to be the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman: Classic TV Series – Batcave (76052). Well it looks like there are now images of the set via Facebook.

The set contains nine minifigures including Batman, Bruce Wayne, Robin, Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth, Catwoman, The Joker, The Penguin, and The Riddler. For the set itself, we have the Batcave, the classic Batmobile, Batcycle, and Batcopter. If you look closely, there’s also a very small area for Wayne Manor. I must say that the retro look of everything looks amazing and will appeal to kids as well as the older generation who grew up with Adam West’s Batman. Rumors say it’ll have 2,526 pieces and will cost $269.99.

It’s also been reported that there will be a Mr. Freeze promotional polybag to go along with the set.

Now it’s time to wait for the official press release and images of the Batman: Classic TV Series – Batcave (76052) from LEGO themselves.

Update: Images have been removed at LEGO’s request.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Polybag Building Instructions Available

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order Star Destroyer (30277)

A few days ago, I reported on some images of a couple of new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens polybags. Well if you want to build your own, LEGO has uploaded the instructions for the First Order Star Destroyer (30277) as well as Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle (30279) to their servers. Of course, you’ll need your own parts but you can at least have them built. For polybag hunters, you’ll probably want to wait until they show up in stores, whenever that it. I’ll let you guys know when and where as soon as there’s info.

LEGO Education WeDo 2.0

This is a little bit out of my realm but I know there are educators who are readers of the site and this might be of interest. LEGO Education at CES 2016 announced the new WeDo 2.0 robotics kit for elementary school students. The updated WeDo 2.0 is designed to teach kids from second to fourth grades STEM basics. There are over 40 hours of projects including physical, life, earth, and space sciences along with engineering and technology.

New LEGO Nexo Knights Summer 2016 Villains Revealed

If you didn’t see the post for some of the Summer 2016 LEGO Nexo Knights, you probably missed out of the little teaser for some new villains that will be appearing in sets and on the TV show. You can check out more details of these characters over on the LEGO Nexo Knights minisite.

LEGO Nexo Knights General Magmar

General Magmar

When you want to conquer the world with an army of monsters, you need a good general to command them. General Magmar is the greatest strategist, warrior and cook the Book of Monsters has ever produced. He talks in big words and fights the big fights. Too bad he rarely wins…

LEGO Nexo Knights Whiperella

Whiperella

Whiparella is so scary she even frightens the Book of Monsters. She is shaped like a snake, has a whip that will call out your deepest fear and her Spidergloblins turn into that fear. Her only personal fear is being called ‘Whimparella’ – which, of course, one of the knights does constantly.

LEGO Nexo Knights Flama

Flama

You don’t want to hug this monster. Flama is a molten mass of liquid lava and you would vaporize in just a moment. Usually seen in cohort with her rock brother Mouldron creating havoc somewhere. Together they are the Hot’n’Heavy twins that deliver a 2-for-1 offer on destruction.

LEGO Nexo Knights Burnzie

Burnzie

Burnzie is a big, bad monster. He has yellow gleaming eyes, a mouthful of sharp teeth and spooky, downward pointing horns. If you point an ordinary sword at him, he will spurt magma fumes on it, to make it go red-hot in an instant.

LEGO Ideas Fossil Museum Achieves 10,000 Supporters

LEGO news comes in waves and in this latest one, the Fossil Museum by whatpumpkin is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This is also the first project to qualify for the First 2016 Review Stage.

The project is pretty much what it says, it’s a little museum scene showing off some skeletons of various dinosaurs including Stegosaurus, Pteranodon, Apatosaurus, Deinonychus, and Spinosaurus. Museums with dinosaur attractions are very popular and this project looks to be a very fun and education set if it becomes an official one.
