The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521) Polybag Review

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

Continuing with my reviews of The LEGO Batman Movie sets, I actually have one of the new polybags that we haven’t seen yet, The Mini Batmobile (30521). It contains 68 pieces but there’s no word on pricing but I assume it could be $3.99 each.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

This Batmobile is the miniature version of the 70905 set that is already available in stores. The base of the vehicle is a 2×4 Technic plate with pins that is oriented lengthwise. The ends uses a couple of 1×2 Technic bricks with half beam holes that are held in place with some plates.

The front uses a Batarang for the ornament while it uses a black shield piece for the canopy top and a droid head for the exhaust. The wings on the sides can fold down on the hinges but nothing too spectacular.

The Mini Batmobile can also change to the monster truck mode but it requires you to take off the 1×2 Technic beam and reorient it vertically.

Overall, The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521) polybag isn’t too bad of a set considering that miniature models of larger sets do not translate as well. If you’re a collector of polybags, I think this one is a good one to pick up when it is available. Again, there’s no word yet on where or when that is at this time.

LEGO Ideas Upcoming Set Updates

LEGO has post an update over on the LEGO Ideas blog about some of the upcoming sets that have been approved.

For the LEGO Ideas Adventure Time (21308) set, it was originally set for release on January 1 but they have decided to move up the release date to December 26. I should have me review of the set up in a few days so stay tuned for that.

There’s actually some news for the Apollo 11 Saturn V set. LEGO is finalizing the model design and it is expected to be released in mid-2017.

Finally for The Old Fishing Store, it is still being worked on by the designer and it is expected to be released in Fall 2017.

New LEGO Brick Calendar (40172)

It looks like there will be a new LEGO Brick Calendar (40172) that is now being sold over at the UK. Margaret_Bricks over on Instagram has posted images of the front and back of the box. The main difference between this Brick Calendar and the previous one is that the numbers are now brick-built instead of being printed bricks.

No word on availability yet here in the US but I assume it will be available at LEGOLAND and at LEGO Stores in January.

LEGO Ideas UCS Rey’s Speeder Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The UCS Rey´s Speeder by Robert Lundmark is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This is actually an unprecedented moment on LEGO Ideas because this is the third project today to hit 10k, which hasn’t happened before, joining the 1950’s Diner and The Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan from earlier. As the project suggest, this is a larger version of Rey’s Speeder from Star Wars: The Force Awakens which has more detail than the standard 75099 set.

The UCS Rey’s Speeder now joins Boat Repair Shop, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Bus” Hulkbuster UCS, LEGO Store Modular Version, Red Dwarf, Landrover 4×4, Vintage Tram, 1950’s Diner, Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan as the projects that qualify the Third 2016 Review Stage.
