LEGO Star Wars Summer 2017 Rumored Sets

There are more rumors of some LEGO Summer 2017 sets and this time it’s for LEGO Star Wars courtesy of Hoth Bricks.

There are two more sets for The Force Awakens with the Quadjumper and the Guavian Death Gang. There’s also some more Freemaker Adventure sets which is interesting to see since there was only a small initial wave.

There’s also the two Battle Packs which makes sense since there’s only two coming out in the winter wave instead of the usual four.

The Imperial Hovertank is a headscratcher since there’s already one for the Rogue One wave but I’ve heard that it could be from the the Battlefront game.

The Rebel Hanger could be a store exclusive as it was revealed on Brickset and not from Hoth Bricks. The Vader Transformation set will be the first standalone set for this scene since 2005 although we saw part of it in Emperor Palpatine’s Shuttle back in 2010.

Creations for Charity 2016 Sale Begins Today

The 8th annual Creations for Charity has officially kicked off for the 2016 LEGO fundraiser. If you’re not familiar with Creations for Charity, it was founded by Nannan Zhang who’s been part of the LEGO community for a long time and the charity raises money to purchase LEGO sets for underprivileged children during the holiday season. As mentioned before, this is the 8th year that it has been going and every year, they’ve donated more and more sets to kids throughout the world.

The online store is now open over on BrickLink and you can either buy a custom build from LEGO builders in the community or donate your own build for the cause. One of the more notable builds this year is from Matt De Lanoy (Pepa Quin) who has provided instructions to build his Johnny Five which failed to pass the First 2016 LEGO Review Stage. For only $5, Matt will provide the instructions in PDF format as well as a parts list for both BrickLink and Rebrickable.

If you want to donate your builds, you have until November 15 at the link above.

LEGO Super Heroes Summer 2017 Set Numbers and Rumors

Brickset has updated their database with set numbers for LEGO Summer 2017 sets and CM4Sci over on Eurobricks has been giving out hints to what those set numbers correspond to.

First we’ll have three LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets based on the upcoming Spider-Man Homecoming movie for sets 70682, 76083, and 76084. There’s also one set 76088 which is unknown at this moment of what it will be.

Over on the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes, there will be three Justice League sets for 76085, 76086, and 76087. These sets will be coming out around August 2017. Additionally, there will be a Wonder Woman set for 76075. This set is rumored to be released around the film hits theaters.

As for The LEGO Batman Movie, there will be five more sets based on the film with sets 70913, 70914, 70915, 70916, and 70917.

Cool LEGO Shopping Bag Concept

Here’s something fun to look at heading into the weekend. A few readers have forwarded me this post by Junho Lee and Hyun Chul Choi at the New York School of Visual Arts of a what they’ve called a LEGO Hand Bag. The bag features a standard shopping bag but there’s also a minifigure hand at the top to make it seem like it’s the person has a minifig hand. It’s a pretty neat concept that I would like to see implemented at LEGO Stores some day.

More The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures (71017) Rumors

The LEGO Batman Movie

We already know there will be a line of The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures (71017) which will have 20 minifigures in the wave but there’s some new information coming out of Eurobricks for them. Delta Customs has stated there will be 7 different Batsuits, 10 villains, and 3 neutral characters.

If you watched the SDCC trailer, there were a lot of Batsuits that were shown in less than 10 seconds so any of them could be one of the minifigures in the set and maybe even some that weren’t even shown in the trailer. As for the villains, we’ve already seen plenty of them in the sets that have been revealed so far but director Chris McKay has stated that the Rogues Gallery will be filled out in LEGO so there’s plenty of villains to choose from. As for the neutral characters, that could be just anyone’s guess.

The LEGO Batman Movie Batman in the Phantom Zone (30522) Polybag Found

**Image has been removed by LEGO’s request.**

It looks like the news today will be geared more for The LEGO Batman Movie. First up is a new polybag found by the folks over at PromoBricks called Batman in the Phantom Zone (30522). The polybag features a standard Batman minifigure with the new utility belt piece along with some sort of device.

If you’re not familiar with the Phantom Zone, it is a realm in the DC Universe used to imprison criminals. This makes the Batman in the Phantom Zone polybag much more interesting and makes you curious of how the Phantom Zone figures into the movie.

This polybag was found on eBay so there’s no information on where or when it will be distributed. I’m hoping that it’ll be a GWP at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home.
