LEGO Ideas Particle Accelerator Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Particle Accelerator project by JK Brickworks is the latest one to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. If creator’s name sounds familiar, that’s because his Labyrinth Marble Maze (21305) will be released in April.

The particle accelerator is based on the real life machine that uses electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to contain them in defined beams. The most well known one is the Large Hadron Collider built by CERN. For the LEGO version, it basically demonstrates the concept by using LEGO balls that spin around the ring. Check out how it works in the video below.

The project now joins the Fossil Museum, the Gingerbread House, the Modular Train Station, the Old Fishing Store, and the Jedi High Council as the ones that qualify for the First 2016 Review Stage.

First LEGO Certified Store Opening in Italy This Summer

It looks like LEGO has expanded into Italy as there will be a new LEGO Certified Store opening there this summer. The store will be ran by Percassi House of Brands which has worked with other major name brands of products.

If you’re not familiar with what a LEGO Certified Store is, it’s basically a store owned and operated by a third party with an agreement with LEGO sort of like a franchise. You’ll mostly find these stores in countries where LEGO does not have their own stores in.

Thanks to Andrea from Mattonito for the email.

Ask Your Questions About LEGO Dimensions Midway Arcade Retro Gamer Level Pack (71235)

On March 15, LEGO Dimensions will be releasing a new expansion pack with the Midway Arcade Retro Gamer Level Pack (71235). This new pack will allow players to play 24 classic arcade favorites in full including Defender, Gauntlet, Joust, Rampage, and Spyhunter, just to name a few. Along with it, we also get the Gamer Kid LEGO minifigure as well as builds of the Arcade Machine and the Spy Hunter G-6155 Interceptor.

We here at The Brick Fan have been given an awesome opportunity to interview the Associate Producer at TT Games, Mark Warburton, about the Level Pack and you can also join in the interview as well. Send us questions below in the comments you may have about the Midway Arcade Level Pack and we’ll choose the best ones to ask Mark. Keep in mind this interview is specifically about the Midway Pack. I’ll let this run until Sunday or Monday.

Do You Collect LEGO Movie Exclusive Minifigures?

It seems like every year, we get a LEGO straight-to-DVD movie that also comes with an exclusive minifigure of some sort. This trend first started back in 2011 with LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace which came with a Young Han Solo minifig. Soon after that, Warner Bro. Home Entertainment has been cracking out movies from various themes like DC Comics Super Heroes that also comes packed with a minifigure. Even live-action movies like the Hobbit trilogy joined in with their exclusives which you can see from the list below:

LEGO Batman: The Movie – Super Heroes Unite – Clark Kent/Superman
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – Bilbo Baggins
LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out – Darth Vader with Medal
The LEGO Movie – Everything is Awesome Edition – Vitruvius
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – Legolas Greenleaf
LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League – Batzarro
LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom! – Trickster
The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies – Bard and Bain

It’s now 2016 and another LEGO movie will be releasing next week with LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Cosmic Clash which includes Cosmic Boy. A few months after that, the recently announced LEGO Scooby-Doo!: Haunted Hollywood will be coming out as well. I don’t expect WB to stop anytime soon as these movies do sell pretty well especially if it comes packed

So the question is, do you purchase these LEGO movies for the actual content … Continue
