Zero LEGO Ideas Projects Selected to Become Official Set

Today LEGO has announced the results of the First 2015 LEGO Ideas Review Stage and I believe for the first time ever, there was not a project that was selected to become an official LEGO Ideas sets. These projects include:

Science Adventures
The Discworld
Medieval Market Street
Disney Princess Frozen Elsa’s Ice Castle
Douglas DC-3
Bricksauria/Tyrannosaurus Rex
International Space Station
The Golden Girls Living Room and Kitchen Modular Set
Legend of Zelda: King of Red Lions Play Set
RMS Titanic
1969 Corvette
Small Yellow
Daft Punk

There are no specifics of why each project did not pass but some of the broader reasons stated include disagreements with the intellectual property rights, projects being too similar to existing products or future products, or projects being too large.

All is not lost though as they are still looking into the F7A Hornet – Star Citizen set. If you’re not familiar with Star Citizen, it is an upcoming space simulator video game that will be launching in 2016.

New LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Polybags Found

Brickset has uncovered some new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens polybag that will probably be released in the near future. The first is the Finn (FN-2187) Stormtrooper minifigure polybag. The other polybag is Poe’s X-Wing Fighter (30278) which is a miniature version of the ship.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on how to get them yet but I have a feeling that Finn will be a LEGO promo of some sort and the X-Wing will probably be sold regularly at Target or Toys R Us. Notice there’s a code on the bottom left corner of the Finn polybag which means it could possibly be included with a new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens video game. I’ll see what information I can find about these two polybags and will update when I can.

LEGO Seasonal Santa’s Visit (40125) Review

Along with the LEGO Seasonal Winter Fun (40124) set, my LEGO Store also had the other Christmas set available, Santa’s Visit (40125). This set has 167 pieces and also retails for $9.99 just like all the other Seasonal sets. The contents of the box include three un-numbered bags, two loose 4×8 tan plates, and the instruction booklet.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Battle Figures

It was only a few days ago when we got the names of the 2016 LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Constraction Battle Figures and now we have a initial look at the characters for the next wave which comes from the November/December 2015 LEGO Club Magazine. The magazine itself is now arriving in mailboxes and they are also available digitally.

The characters that are in the 2016 wave include Poe Dameron, Finn, Rey, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, and the First Order Stormtrooper. These will be officially available in January 2016 but we can probably expect to see them in late January.

LEGO Seasonal Winter Fun (40124) Review

The last two LEGO Season sets have shown up in stores and the first of the two I’ll be reviewing is the Winter Fun (40124) set. It contains 107 pieces and retails for $9.99. The contents of the box include three un-numbered bags, two loose white 4×8 plates, and the instruction booklet.

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) Official Set Image

The big news today was reveal of the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827). The official image of the set is now available on Shop@Home along with the description of the set which we already knew about a few weeks ago. If you haven’t yet, check out the details below.

In the image above, we can also see the minifigures of Janine, Dana, and Louis as well as the Librayr Ghost and the Zombie Driver. To the question that many people have been wondering, the doors to the Firehouse Headquarters (75827) can open up to fit the LEGO Ideas Ecto-1 (21108). Click through to see a high quality version of the image.

Update: Although the product page says it is a LEGO Ideas set, designer Marcos Bessa has stated that it is an error on Shop@Home and that the set is not part of the line.
