LEGO Working on LEGO Ideas WALL·E (21303) Head Issue

LEGO Ideas WALL•E (21303)

As we know by now, the release of the LEGO Ideas WALL·E (21303) has been nothing short of a complete disaster. It was originally set for release on September 1st but it has since been delayed and has been listed for a February 2016 release on Shop@Homeicon. The limited amount of sets that have shown up at LEGO Brand have already been sold out or recalled with no mentioning of the reason. Presumably it’s because of the weak neck joint but as I and many others have reported, it’s mainly because of the swiveling head.

A post on Reddit from LEGO Customer Service has noted that WALL·E’s head is indeed a problem and this is the first time that we’ve heard LEGO acknowledging it after numerous complaints from various outlets. They also state that they’re working on a fix for the head with a new solution in the next couple of weeks. My guess is that the second wave of recalls is to fix the head swivel which was a problem from the very beginning. I’m not sure why LEGO didn’t fix it when they recalled it the first time for the neck. Stay tuned as we get details on when the LEGO Ideas WALL•E (21303) will be available for purchase again. If you already have the set ahead of this fix, you can either call or email LEGO Customer Service and they’ll most likely send you the parts.

Rosario Dawson to Voice Batgirl in The LEGO Batman Movie

Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the LEGO Batman spin-off movie has casted Rosario Dawson as the voice of Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl. She has done voice work before in other animated films like Wonder Woman for Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and she joins Will Arnett (Batman), Michael Cera (Robin), and Zach Galifianakis (Joker) in an already star-studded cast. The LEGO Batman Movie will be in theaters on February 10, 2017.

More Fake LEGO Products Showing Up at Comic Cons

Last week was New York Comic Con and The Brick Show was there with West End Toys, a company that sells legitimate LEGO products. However there are other “companies” there that also sell what appears to be LEGO but in reality, they’re just cheap knock-offs from China.

Stephen went around to a few booths showing what products they’re selling and found there were about “20-30” booths selling all kinds of counterfeit LEGO from bricks to minifigures. As LEGO fans, we know which minifigures are legit and which are not but parents and kids who aren’t enthusiasts can’t really tell the difference because they look so similar and are priced way cheaper. As one person at these booths states about selling fake LEGO,

“Doesn’t matter, that’s the best part. They fit on the thing and that’s all that matters to me. I’m all about capitalism.”

That statements bugs me because they’re all about the money. Notice they don’t even use the correct terminology when describing where the minifigures are standing on as they only call it “the thing.” Not a stand or on studs but “the thing.”

Note that this was at New York Comic Con, one of the largest fan conventions in the US. This is my first time hearing about booths selling fake LEGO products at these conventions as I don’t see them at San Diego Comic Con but then again, they are different organizers so they probably don’t care what is sold there.

As LEGO keeps growing bigger and bigger, the more likely companies … Continue
