LEGO Ninjago Toys R Us Building Event

Next Saturday March 28 from 12-2pm, Toys R Us stores are holding a free LEGO Ninjago building event where you can create your favorite Ninja’s eyes and mask to take home. It looks like you can either choose from Kai the Red Ninja or Lloyd the Green Ninja. Don’t say I didn’t warn you but be sure to get there pretty early as these building events usually have very long lines.

Update: There are actually designs for all five Ninjas: Red, Green, Blue, Black, and White, but a child participating can only choose one color to build and take home. Thanks to Joseph for the clarification.

Choose your favorite LEGO® Ninjago Ninja, build and take home the iconic ninja eyes!

Plus, participate in a fun scavenger hunt for a chance to win a prize!

Event for children over 5 years of age. Selection varies. One model per child. Quantities limited; no rain checks. All participating Toys “R” Us US locations.

LEGO Pirates Chess Set (40158) Out of Stock Until September

If you’re one of the people who are looking for recently released LEGO Pirates Chess Set (40158), you may be out of luck for a while. The set is currently out of stock on Shop@Homeicon and the next shipment is expected to be shipped on September 13, 2015. Yes, you read that right. That’s six months from now.

I’m not sure if that’s a listing error or if the set is really that popular because I haven’t seen any set lately that had an out-of-stock shipping date six months out. Of course, this date may change later when more sets are produced. You may want to check with your local LEGO Store or LEGOLAND park to see if they still have any in stock or not. Otherwise, you may have to wait a pretty long time for the LEGO Pirates Chess Set (40158) to come back in stock.

LEGO Toys-to-Life Video Game Rumored Title as LEGO Dimensions

A few days ago, we reported of a rumor that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Traveller’s Tales will be releasing a toys-to-life video game later this year. Today, VideoGamer.com has learned that this new game is being developed under the name of “LEGO Dimensions.”

LEGO hopes to break into the popular toys-to-life market joining Activision’s Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and Nintendo amiibo where figures have a NFC chip inside which can be projected into the game as a playable character. There are no further details at this point as all parties are being hush hush on the project but Traveller’s Tales associate producer Tim Wileman notes:

“I don’t want to focus too much on the other games at the moment but what I will say is, like I say, we’re always looking to push the boundaries on these games in terms of the scope and the potential and we’re ambitious in that respect. So although I can’t go into any specific details now, rest assured that is the case and we’re always trying to push the boundaries. So watch this space.”
