LEGO at the 2015 London Toy Fair

The 2015 London Toy Fair will be happening in the next three days and I’m pretty sure we’ll be getting some reports from various sources on what will be happening at the LEGO booth there. I believe photography is prohibited there so we’ll have to go with with attendees remember seeing.

We’ve already seen set rumors for various themes that will be releasing this summer but there could be more information about the Summer 2015 sets such as piece count and pricing. We’ll try to keep you updated throughout the next couple of days as information becomes available.

If you’re going to be attending The Toy Fair in London, contact us and give us your account of what you saw there.

How many of you are excited to see the return of LEGO Pirates?

LEGO Galaxy Squad Officially Retired

If you held off on getting any LEGO Galaxy Squad sets, it looks like your time is up. The theme has officially been retired and has been removed from LEGO Shop@Home. Although you can still find the sets individually if you search hard enough on the site, you can’t purchase anything. The theme was first introduced in 2013 and had two waves since then and had a mixed reaction with fans. Some really liked it because of the elements that came with it, some just didn’t get into it at all. Personally, it seemed kind of cool but wasn’t my kind of thing.

If you still need to pick up a couple of the LEGO Galaxy Squad sets, Amazon as well as Toys R Us currently has them on sale. I highly suggest picking them up before prices start to rise in the next few months.

What were your thoughts of the LEGO Galaxy Squad theme? Did you like it? Did you not like it?

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Age of Ultron Set Descriptions (Spoilers)

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Age of Ultron Sets

We’ve already seen images of the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Age of Ultron sets but the chums over at Brick Fanatics have found some details of the sets from the Argos website. Apparently, Argos don’t know that the Avengers sets are on the Marvel Super Heroes side because they labeled them as DC Comics but that’s beside the point. Additionally, there are only descriptions for five of the six sets in the wave. Beware, there might be some slight spoilers so you’ve been warned.

Iron Man vs. Ultron (76029)

Team up with Iron Man MK45 to take on the Ultron army in an ultimate battle! Defend against aerial attacks from the Ultron vehicle piloted by the Sub-Ultron officer. Take cover as Sub-Ultron troopers leap from the back of the vehicle and fire their stud shooters.

Then activate Iron Mans Super Jumper to topple the Sub-Ultron officer and bring the vehicle crashing to the ground! Includes 4 minifigures with assorted weapons and accessories: Sub-Ultron officer, 2 Sub-Ultron troopers and Iron Man MK45.

Duel with Hydra/Hydra Showdown (76030)

Join Thor and Hawkeye as they chase the Hydra henchman through the Sokovia winter forest! Place Hawkeye in the cockpit of the awesome Avengers 4×4 vehicle and accelerate away. When you have the Hydra offroader in your sights, fire the flick missiles from the rotating turret and swerve away from the offroaders powerful stud shooter.

Then launch Thor on his Super Jumper and disable the stud shooter with one perfectly aimed jump! Includes 3 minifigures with assorted weapons

New LEGO City Playmat (5002936) Found

One of our readers has tweeted us a new LEGO City Playmat (5002936) that we could be seeing here in the States this year. The playmat is double-sided and on one side it has a setting for the new 2015 Swamp Police sets while the other side has a setting for the Construction sets. If it is released here, it’ll probably retail for $14.99 like previously released playmats. Thanks to Eric for the heads up.

Nexon Creating LEGO RPG Mobile Game

Nexon, who makes some very popular role-playing MMO games like MapleStory and Dragon Nest, will be collaborating with LEGO and TT Games to create a new LEGO RPG mobile game for Android and iOS devices. This new RPG will be based on various LEGO themes including Ninjago. Nexon president and CEO stated:

“LEGO is among the most wildly successful and iconic brands of our time, and we are thrilled to be teaming up with TT Games to bring Lego-based online games to mobile gamers. Players can look forward to the fun and unique game experiences that Nexon is known for, along with the Lego characters they have come to love. This agreement is the most recent example of Nexon’s ongoing quest for creative, new ideas for great games, both through our own development and by partnering with other creators of world-class IP.”

Nexon has somewhat been involved with LEGO since 2013 when founder Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim purchased BrickLink and his team has been making changes to the site since to make it more updated. The new LEGO RPG is expected to be released in 2016 and will initially be available in Asia which is the norm if you’ve play any Nexon games before. I’ve personally played both MapleStory and Dragon Nest and I can say that they are very addicting games so hopefully this new LEGO game will follow in their footsteps.

LEGO Pirates 2015

We already know that the LEGO Pirates theme will be returning in 2015 with a wave of five sets but there’s some additional information that has surfaced in the past couple of days. Just2Good over on Eurobricks is reporting that there will also be another LEGO Pirates set this year, a Pirates Chess set! The last LEGO Pirates Chess sets was released six years ago back in 2009 with set 852751 so it’s cool to see it making a comeback as well along with the theme itself. There’s no further details other than that but stay tuned as we’ll update you with more information as they become available.
