LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel (10247) To Be Revealed Soon

Creator Logo 2.png

Every month this year, there has been a reveal of a LEGO Direct-to-Consumer set, usually around the middle of the month except for The Shield Helicarrier (76042) which was at the end of January. I expect LEGO to do the same in April with their reveal of the rumored Ferris Wheel (10247). One of my reasonings is that according to the May 2015 LEGO Store Calendar from May 13-31, VIP members will be getting early access to a new exclusive set. This date range also corresponds to the date that was provided from the fairly famous list of 2015 set releases and promotions.

For those who haven’t heard about the set, the Ferris Wheel (10247) is rumored to be a companion set to the LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer (10244)icon which was revealed around the same time last year. I know a lot of people really dig the Mixer with all the play features that are included and I’m sure the Ferris Wheel won’t disappoint either. Now we just play the waiting game until the set is officially revealed which could be any time between now and the end of the month.

Do you guys have the Fairground Mixer and will you be getting the Ferris Wheel to go along with it to expand your amusement park?

LEGO April Fool’s Day 2015 Roundup

Now that April Fools Day is over, I think it’s time for me to explain myself for the evil post I did yesterday. During the whole year, I’m mostly serious with the news that I report on and April 1st is the one day that I get to have a bit more fun, maybe a little too much. Some readers caught on quickly to the post while some took it seriously and for that, I apologize. I like to also apologize to the LEGO Stores who received calls regarding this matter. Please do not call your LEGO Store asking about old Modular sets returning this weekend. They aren’t coming back. Period.

There was a subtle hint in the “press release” that sort of gives the joke away. The set numbers of the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer were switched around. Again, some readers saw that mistake while many others didn’t notice it at all. As a result of this mean charade, I will be retiring from the April Fool’s jokes and will not be posting anything next year. As a warning, never trust anything on April 1st or even the day before which was when I posted my “news”.

Anyways, other LEGO sites in the community also had some April Fool’s shenanigans of their own yesterday. Below are some of the ones I know of and if I missed any, leave a comment below and I’ll add it to the list.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham has finally finished releasing all the DLC Packs for the game with the Heroines and Villainesses Pack being available now for free. LEGO Bringing Back Retired Modular Buildings With New Revival Theme

With the popularity of LEGO Modular sets with the LEGO Creator Detective’s Office (10246)icon becoming the latest set released this year, LEGO has announced that they are bringing back some of the more popular Modular sets including Cafe Corner (10182) and the Green Grocer (10185) with a new theme/subtheme called Revival. This weekend at LEGO Stores and Shop@Home, they’ll be selling the sets for a limited time for VIP members. The only catch is there’s no word on what the pricing for the two sets will be. Hopefully, they’ll be the same as before but considering inflation since they sets were first released, I bet they’ll be slightly higher than before.

It was also stated that LEGO is planning to release more Modular sets in the future. There’s no mentioning of which sets will be coming but for now, at least we don’t have to resort to BrickLinking parts to recreate them. Check out the full press release below as well as an image of the sets.

LEGO Reintroducing Retired Modular Building Sets With New Theme Called Modular Revival

BILLUND, DENMARK (April 1, 2015) – For many LEGO fans, the 10185 Café Corner and 10182 Green Grocer were some of our most popular sets in the LEGO Modular Building series. For the newer LEGO fans who may have missed out on them, we’re now bringing these sets back, for a limited time, the same way that they were released in 2007 and 2008, respectively. This reintroduction of the sets will also bring a

More LEGO Jurassic World Video Game Pre-Order Exclusives Revealed

LEGO Jurassic World Gallimimus Trap Polybag (30320)

Earlier today, the official LEGO Jurassic World Twitter account posted the Gamestop pre-ordericon exclusive for the game which is the Gallimimus Trap (30320) polybag. The exclusive polybag is cool and all but I’m not sure why the polybag is called Gallimimus Trap when the dinosaur being trapped looks more like a Compsognathus (Compy) or even a Coelophysis unless the meat on the trap itself is from a Gallimimus which is what I think LEGO was thinking when they created the set name. Although the bonus doesn’t show up yet on the LEGO Jurassic World product listings on Gamestop, you can still pre-order it and get it.

After doing some more research, I’ve concluded there’s an error with the polybag because the dinosaur included and listed on the bottom right says Gallimimus which is wrong. Gallimimus are toothless according to the official Jurassic World site. Plus they are omnivores but mostly eat plants so they probably won’t go after the piece of meat that’s in the trap. It seems that LEGO went the lazy route and just reused an existing mold and given it a repaint.

Target also has a pre-order bonus going for the LEGO Jurassic World video game and it is the Dr. Wu minifigure that we saw yesterday with the Amazon.de pre-order.
