LEGO Jurassic World Video Game in the Works?

According to JurassicWorld.org, in addition to the LEGO Jurassic World sets that we reported on last week, there are also plans for a LEGO Jurassic World video game possibly by popular LEGO game publisher TT Games. There’s no other details at this time but we can assume that the game will follow the storyline of the film much like in The LEGO Movie video game. It would be really cool if all four movies in the Jurassic Park franchise would get the LEGO treatment but we’ll see what happens.

As we all know, TT Games has made a number of great LEGO video games in the past as well as the upcoming LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham so adding another one to the list isn’t too far-fetched. More details about this as they become available.

LEGO Remote-Controlled Batpod by Sariel

You may have heard of Sariel and all of the cool LEGO remote control vehicles that he creates. Well, he’s back and this time he has created the Batpod from The Dark Knight movie. The tires that he used are from the new LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes The Tumbler (76023). He also added some Lifelites LEDs in the front cannons. The coolest feature is probably the remote control aspect of it. To add some more authenticity to the vehicle, Sariel added the Batman Ultrabuild (4526) figure to ride it. Check out how Sariel created the Batpod as well as more pictures of the vehicle over on his site.

LEGO Store September 2014 Monthly Mini Build Event Racing Plane (40102) Review

LEGO Store September 2014 Monthly Mini Build Event

Today is the first Tuesday of the month so that means the September 2014 Monthly Mini Build event at the LEGO Stores took place. This month’s build is the the Racing Plane (40102). As usual, families were waiting for their turn to build the set. Like last month, kids could etiher take the set home or build inside the store.

The Racing Plane is a pretty simple to create. It contains 37 pieces and in addition to the plane, you also get a little stand with a flagpole and a plant. There’s nothing much to the set but it seemed that a lot of kids really enjoyed building it.

A special thanks to all the new people I met today and a continued thanks to the awesome staff working there who continues to spread the word about this little blog.

A Young Boy’s LEGO Wish

Usually we report on LEGO news and do reviews but there are times when we have to take a step back and look at life itself and how short it can be for some. I’ve was recently emailed by someone named Alana who runs the blog, “Growing My Way Out” and she informed me about a post about a young boy named Dylan.

Dylan has been real sick and unfortunately, he has been given only a few months to live. One of his “bucket list” items is to be buried in a coffin built of LEGO bricks.

To spread the word about Dylan, Alana also posted on Reddit and has gained a lot of traction the past day or so. A user by the named of WikeTheWizard is a former LEGOLAND Master Model Builder and a current professional LEGO artist and he has volunteered to help out with Dylan’s wish if they can get the resources in time. After doing a little bit of research, WikeTheWizard is actually Brandon Wike and who is currently working at LEGOLAND California. From what I can see on the Reddit thread, the community is supporting Brandon and is doing what they can to help out with Dylan’s wish.

If you are able to help out, you can donate on PayPal to help the family with the various costs. It was also mentioned that Dylan lives in the 65401 zip code (Rolla, Missouri) so if you are in the area, you can probably help out locally as well. If you can’t … Continue

LEGO Star Wars UCS Slave I (76060) Revealed

LEGO Star Wars UCS Slave I (76060)

Just2Good on YouTube has revealed images of the new LEGO Star Wars UCS Slave I (76060). We’ve been reporting that this was the set that has been rumored and now we finally get to see some of the images of it.

More images will be revealed on Eurobricks but from what we can see so far, there will be four minifigures and the Carbonite Han piece. It will have 1996 pieces and will retail for $199.99 as reported on BrickPicker a few months ago.

Some details that can be seen is the new arm printing that Boba Fett has as well as the Bespin Guard minifigure. The box does have the Ultimate Collector’s Series badge on the bottom left corner so it will indeed be an UCS set, much like what the Sandcrawler (79059) has.

Now we just have to wait for the rest of the images as well as the official LEGO press release for more details of the UCS Slave I but in the meantime, check out some of the images below. My guess is that the set will be revealed on October 6th, according to the store calendar.

Eurobricks New York Comic Con 2014 Ticket Contest

It seems that something really big is about to go down at New York Comic Con 2014 next month. LEGO will be holding a special panel there and to announce a new LEGO theme and they are providing various LEGO communities tickets to give away. Last week, BZPower started their contest to give their tickets away, which ends on Sunday, September 7th and now Eurobricks has some to give away as well.

They have 3 pairs of tickets to give away for the October 9th event. The ticket will get you into the convention and the panel but there are some requirements that you have to uphold as well. Read all of their rules of the contest in the post here.

Like we mentioned before, there could be a number of themes that could potentially be revealed at New York Comic Con. There was speculation that it could be the return of LEGO BIONICLE because when BZPower started their contest, it was assumed that since they were a BIONICLE centered site. My personal guesses were either the LEGO Jurassic World or the LEGO Minecraft minifigure scale sets. Other themes that readers have guessed on our Facebook Page were the Elves and the Pirates sets which also could be good possibilities. The last guess is the Supercars sets which is for the rumored LEGO Top Gear theme.

Again, sound off in the comments to give us your guesses on what theme LEGO would be announcing next month.
