LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters MOC by Sergio Herencias

With the news that a LEGO version of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) becoming an official set, many people have took it upon themselves to build their own Firehouse Headquarters to have it ready for when the vehicle is available this summer. Sergio Herencias is one of these people. From inspiration from Dr. Dave Watford and Brent Waller, he has created his version the Firehouse which is a hybrid of both Ghostbusters movies. From the descriptions, the building is 38cm x 33.6cm x 17.5cm and consists of 3467 pieces. The total time it took for him to build was around 20 hours. The floors are removable and it also includes lights from LifeLites. Sergio also has plans to include lights in the Ecto-1 as well. Check out the timelapse video of him building his Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters MOC below.

LEGO The Hobbit Video Game Side Quest Character Pack DLC Revealed

LEGO The Hobbit Video Game Side Quest Character Pack DLC

Automation Creations on Eurobricks has found an image of a DLC pack for the LEGO The Hobbit Video Game called the “Side Quest Character Pack.” This DLC has four characters including a Dwarf Merchant Lady, Vacation Saruman, Thranduil’s Elk, Girion, a Dwarf Soldier, and a River Troll. After doing some research on this Character Pack, it looks like it’s being offered online at some European online retailers when you pre-order the game. Over here, we have the Good Morning Bilbo Baggins minifigure as the Gamestop pre-order bonus. So far no other retailers have any other bonuses for the game. Thanks to Kevin for the heads up.

Update: There are a couple more DLC packs that were found on the Eurobricks forum. Thanks to Nickk in the comments for the heads up.

First there is one called “The Big Little Character Pack” which has some characters as babies or little people such as Baby Smaug, Baby Gimli, Snow Troll, Spider, Stone Dwarf, and Bandobras “Bullroarer” Took.

LEGO First Kiss by Antonio Toscano

The First Kiss video by Tatia Pilieva was about twenty strangers were asked to kiss for the first time. People got together even with the awkwardness and the video was very moving.

Antonio Toscano, known for his various stop-motion videos, has done a LEGO version of First Kiss using minifigures. Unlike the original video, there are a few comedic shots in his version as well. Check out Antonio’s video above and if you haven’t seen the original by Tatia, I’ve embedded that one below.

LEGO CUUSOO The Big Bang Theory Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Are you a fan of The Big Bang Theory? If so, then you guys may be getting an official LEGO set in the near future. The reason is because The Big Bang Theory collaborative project by Alatariel and GlenBricker has achieved 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO. If Alatariel’s name sounds familiar, that is because they are the same person who created the Female Minifigure Set which also hit 10,000 supporters back in last June. That project is still being evaluated.

The BBT project represents Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter’s living room and also includes the whole gang including Howard, Bernadette, Amy, Penny, and Rajesh with Cinnamon. The living room has various details such as the Green Lantern’s lantern, the Rubik’s cube tissue box, a model of DNA, and a mini LEGO Death Star. The reason that this project has achieved the number of supporters needed is the fan base and because it’s been blogged by a number of high profile sites. Even the official Twitter account of The Big Bang Theory has tweeted about the project.

It now joins the LEGO Bird Project, the Modular Apple Store, the BTTF – Jules Verne Train, as well as the Doctor Who project, which hit 10k two days ago, in the first review stage in early May. Congratulations to Alatariel and GlenBricker for this achievement and it looks to be a very intereesting review in a few months. Believe in magic, you muggles!

Congratulations on 10,000 supporters, Alatariel and GlenBricker!

LEGO Seasonal Easter Bunny (40086) Review

Spring is only a week away that that means Easter is also almost here. Much like LEGO acknowledging Valentine’s Day with the Teddy Bear (40085), they have released a Seasonal Easter Bunny (40086) as well. This set has 106 pieces and also retails for $9.99.

The build of the Easter Bunny is pretty straight-forward. It is built from the bottom up and there are no real surprises. It has similar arms as the Teddy Bear for it to hold the brick-built carrot. Unlike the bear, the legs do not move at all. The only articulation it has is the arms and the ears.

The Easter Bunny isn’t as cute as the Valentine’s Bear but it’s a neat little set. Plus they go well next to each other. It is now available at LEGO Brand Stores as well as on Shop@Home for a limited time. If you do not know, LEGO only sells these types of sets only a few times in a year to match the season. Once the time has passed, you probably can only find them on the secondary market. So if you’re liking the Easter Bunny, don’t hesitate to pick it up pretty soon.
