Valentine’s Day is still months away but there is a new LEGO Seasonal set showing up at LEGO brand stores as well as on eBay. There’s no official name for the set yet as it isn’t in LEGO’s database at this time but it looks to be a Valentine’s Day Teddy Bear with set number 40085. It contains 127 pieces and builds a tan bear with a red heart that connects to the chest. I was at the local LEGO store today and did not notice this set on the shelves but I’ll be checking for it next time.

LEGO brand stores and Shop@Home will be giving away a FREE LEGO The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug poster with a purchase of any LEGO The Hobbit sets. This includes any of the 2014 sets that were recently released at the beginning of the month.
The poster is the same one that I got from the early Black Friday 2013 VIP shopping event a few weeks ago (see below). The poster is not made from ordinary paper materials but is made from a thicker matte material that is great for framing. Just a precaution, I recommend heading to your local LEGO store to pick it up in case the one given online may get folded. This offer is only valid until December 15th or while supplies last.
Update: One of our readers headed to their local store and unfortunately, the poster is the lightweight paper one. At least it has the same design as the other one.
As we start the second week of the LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023), we’ve gotten a good mix of minifigures and builds. What can we expect to get on the second Sunday of the calendar?
Have you ever wanted some decent street signs for your LEGO MOCs and displays? Well now’s your chance to get some! Steve Barile from altBricks, also known for his summer and fall leaves, has started a Kickstarter project to create some LEGO Compatible Street Signs. The original goal of $500 that he has requested has already been surpassed by a number of backers and still has 29 days left to pledge.
The Street Signs will be printed with white ink that has a raised ink imprint which gives the signs a really nice look. The product will have two different kits: a “Sign Pack” and a “Street Lamp Sign Pack.” The “Sign Pack” consists of ten 1×4 green tiles which includes five primary signs (same name) and five secondary signs (different names).
The “Street Lamp Sign Pack” will consist of everything that was in the “Sign Pack” plus five lamp post assemblies which includes a lamp post, 1×1 translucent MF head, 4×4 radar dish, 1×1 brick with 2 adjacent side studs, and three 1×1 round plates.
There are a number of rewards you can choose from by pledging a certain amount including some limited ones. The estimated delivery date will be January 2014 since they are ready to go. One of our avid readers and Brickfilmer, Alexander of Legostudio01 Brickfilme., has reached out to me about one of his latest projects. Since I’m a big Sherlock fan, I was fairly intrigued by the email he sent. A few months ago, BBC released a teaser trailer for the long-awaited announcement of Sherlock Season 3 starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Since then, Alexander has been hard at work to recreate the teaser using LEGO bricks and stop-motion. I must say that the video was put together very well from the animations to the accuracy of the original trailer as seen in the upper-left corner. Now we wait for the Sherlock season premiere in January. #SherlockLives
