Various LEGO Polybags at Target Stores

LEGO Seasonal Witch (40032)

Today, I was at my local Target store, the one on Mira Mesa for you San Diego readers, and found a couple of polybags stocked. In the Halloween section in the back of the store is the LEGO Seasonal Witch (40032) which was a LEGO Store exclusive from last fall. It contains 71 pieces and retails for $4.99.

LEGO Star Wars Umbaran MHC Polybag (30243)

The other polybag that was stocked in the Halloween section is the LEGO Star Wars Umbaran MHC (30243). I haven’t seen this polybag before in stores in the US except for today and only had a limited run in a few Canadian stores. It has 49 pieces and goes for $3.99.

LEGO City Mining Dozer Polybag (30151)

The final polybag that I found at Target was the LEGO City Mining Dozer (30151). This polybag was first released at Target stores in 2012 but this is the first time I’ve seen it stocked. It was stocked at the checkout aisles as an impulse buy item. The Dozer has 32 pieces and sells for $4.69.

LEGO Galaxy Squad Mini Mech (30230)

TheOrcKing in the comments has informed us Target has also stocked the LEGO Galaxy Squad Mini Mech (30230) and may possibly have the LEGO City Fire Car (30221) at the the checkout aisles. Both polybags are $3.99 each.

LEGO Legends of Chima 2014 Legend Beast Set Details

Back in August, we reported the set list for the LEGO Legends of Chima sets for 2014. All About Bricks has also put up the list but with a minor detail that was reported before. Under the “Legend Beasts” section, they also included the words “New Small Boxed Sets”. CM4S over on Eurobricks chimed in that those particular sets are models of the Legend Beasts and also includes minifigures. My guess is that they’re buildable sets of the Legend Beasts and the major characters in the show will be riding them, like what Laval did in Episode 2 of the animated tv series. CM4S has been correct on many rumors so most likely this rumor will be true. Now we just have to wait until the official images are released.

LEGOLAND California Water Park Expansion in 2014

Today, LEGOLAND California announced a major expansion for the Water Park that is set to open Summer 2014. The 2.5 acre expansion will cost about $12 million and will be featuring attractions from the LEGO Legends of Chima theme. This expansion follows the footsteps of LEGOLAND’s sister park in Florida where they opened The World of Chima back in July. The cost of admission to the new area will be included with the admission to the LEGOLAND Water Park. The new expansion will be located in the north-east area of park next to the Pirate Reef attraction. Four of the eight new areas of the expansion were revealed today as well by park officials.

The “Lion Temple Wave Pool” will be the centerpiece of the expansion and will have a 30 foot Mount Kavora where water will cascade down. It it also show various characters from each of the tribes.

“Cragger’s Swamp” is a play area where it lets kids blast water cannons and ride water slides right into the head of a large crocodile.

On “Eglor’s Build-A-Boat, kids can build a boat much like the current Build-A-Raft attraction and race against other kids while dodging obstacles.

The “Wolves’ Cantina” is a food service area that will show off things from the Wolf tribe.

If you remember back in April, LEGOLAND California Hotel opened and rooms were quickly filled up. Officials are hoping that the new Legends of Chima Water Part will attract customers who want to say at the park for more than a … Continue

LEGO Store Employee (5001622)

The Brick Owl has reported a new LEGO Store Employee (5001622) promotional polybag which includes LEGO Retail Store mascot, Tom, dressed in black with a red 2×4 brick. There’s no word on how we will be able to get the polybag but Brick Owl suggests it might be for purchases of a certain dollar amount. Do any of my LEGO employee friends know anything about this polybag? If so, feel free to comment. Also one more thing. Where is the yellow apron?!?

Remembering September 11 With LEGO

Today is September 11 and people around the world are doing various things to remember the lives lost during the tragic event in 2001. Our good friend Mariann Asanuma (Model Building Secrets) created the above LEGO mosaic of the iconic Raising the Flag at Ground Zero picture by photographer Thomas E. Franklin to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the event but it is still fitting for every year since it remind us that our resolve grows stronger every year.

Nathan Sawaya has also created a piece to remember the event and has created a version of Yellow featuring the famous Statue of Liberty showing her heart.

I wanted to do a special piece for the city. The Statue of Liberty is a welcoming symbol of this city and ultimately she is all about heart.

Never Forget

Flickr user TAMUMick has recreated a firefighter helmet with a prominent 343 in the front to represent the 343 FDNY firefighters who perished during the September 11 while protecting the citizens of New York.

If you have something created with LEGO bricks to commemorate September 11, feel free to contact us and we’ll feature your works of art as well. Never forget 9/11.
