LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine (21103) Review

It is finally here! The latest LEGO CUUSOO to be released as an official LEGO set is the Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine (21103). The set was created by Masashi Togami and Team BTTF and was submitted to CUUSOO on August 1, 2011. It wasn’t until April 28, 2012 that the projected had enough supporters to go to the Summer 2012 Review. During the review stage, the DeLorean was going up against three other popular projects and we all know the outcome of that. In December 2012, LEGO announced that the DeLorean Time Machine would be an official LEGO set. During the 2013 San Diego Comic Con, LEGO released the set on sale early for attendees of the event and on August 1st, the set was officially released to the public which is two years to the day after it was first submitted on CUUSOO. The set contains 401 pieces and retails for $34.99, a $0.09/piece ratio. The box contains five unnumbered bags, one fairly large instruction booklet, and three loose plates.

LEGO Doc Brown’s GMC Value Van By Team BTTF

Last month, Masashi Togami revealed that he and Team BTTF will be releasing more Back to the Future related sets to be added to LEGO CUUSOO in the next few months. Today, Sakuretsu has posted a few preliminary images of Doc Brown’s GMC Value Van. It is the white van that is used to transport the DeLorean Time Machine at the Twin Pines Mall. On the side of the van, it has the wording “DR. E. BROWN ENTERPRISES — 24 HR. SCIENTIFIC SERVICES. The images also show a smaller DeLorean that is able to fit inside the van. Some other things that are shown in the images are Marty and Doc in their radiation suits with Einstein. Marty is holding the video camera that was used to record Doc’s experiment of the temporal displacement. Doc is seen holding plutonium that he took from the Libyan nationalists. Just from seeing the images, I feel that this will be a popular project on CUUSOO when it is submitted later this month.

2013 San Diego Comic Con LEGO Super Heroes Minifigures Sold For $4000

The news for the 2013 San Diego Comic Con LEGO Super Heroes minifigures doesn’t end even after a month of the end of the event. You may remember that there was some controversy a week back about some of the attendees who insisted that the giveaway was rigged. Well, that didn’t stop a seller by the name of cohens714 on eBay of getting a hold of all four minifigures and having an auction for them and it was sold for $3999.00. What’s interesting is that the seller has relisted a similar auction going with a starting bid of $2999.00. This is somewhat suspicious because either he didn’t really “sell” the minifigures for $4000 and made a fake account to “buy” it out or he has multiples of each of the Super Heroes minifigures. If he does have multiples of the them, how did he get that many? What do you think actually happened and would you put down $4000 to buy these minifigures?
