Upcoming Toys R Us LEGO Bricktober Events

Toys R Us LEGO Bricktober

Toys R Us stores is having some Bricktober 2013 events at local stores later this month. On Saturday, October 19 from 12-2pm, visit your local TRU store and you can build your own DC Super Heroes Joker Mini Mech Bot and take it home. If you look closely, you can see there is a purple plate that’s sticking out so I’m assuming a Joker minifigure is supposed to stand there. We’re not sure if you’ll be getting one or if you have to use your own. To be honest, the Mini Mech Bot looks horrible but at least you can get free bricks.

Secondly, if you purchase any LEGO Batman Super Heroes sets of $20 or more, you can get a FREE Robin’s Redbird Cycle (30166) polybag. This is the first time that US residents will be able to get it since it was only offered in Canadian Toys R Us stores.

For the Marvel side of the promotion, you can get a FREE Iron Man vs. Fighting Drone (30167) polybag with purchases of $20 or more in LEG Marvel Super Heroes sets. This polybag was first available through LEGO stores and on Shop@Home.

LEGO Creator Expert Parisian Restaurant (10243) Officially Announced

LEGO Creator Expert Parisian Restaurant (10243)

Way back in July, we did a post revealing that there will be a new LEGO modular set coming in the near future. Today at Brickcon 2013 in Seattle, WA, Kevin Hinkle revealed the newest set to the very popular theme, the Parisian Restaurant (10243). You can check out the set in it’s full glory in the images below as well as the designer video by Jamie Berard.

10243 Parisian Restaurant

Ages 16+. 2,469 pieces.

Have an unforgettable evening at the amazing Parisian Restaurant!

US $159.99 – CA $189.99 – DE 149.99 € – UK 132.99 £ – DK 1299.00 DKK

It’s very busy in the Parisian Restaurant. As a scooter zips by, inside the waiter rushes between the tables as the nervous young man gets ready to propose with the ring! It’s just as hectic behind the scenes, with the chef busily preparing the food. This beautifully detailed building is the setting for so many stories and is a great addition to the modular building series. The Parisian Restaurant has a fully-stocked, blue and white tiled kitchen with tableware as well as a cozy apartment with pull-down bed, kitchenette and fireplace. On the top floor is the artist’s room with a studio that includes a cast iron heater, easel, paintbrush and two works of art by the aspiring artist. Outside, stairs lead down to the roof terrace lined with hanging lanterns and flowers where the diners eat alfresco-style. This amazing Parisian Restaurant model even includes a facade with croissants, clams and feather details that recapture

New LEGO Club Magazine Ninjago Rebooted Image

Ninjago Rebooted Poster

Delta 38 over on Eurobricks has posted an image of a new LEGO Ninjago Rebooted poster which came from the Australian LEGO Club Magazine. It also states “Coming This Summer” which probably means that the animated cartoon TV series will be back sometime in December since it will be summer then in Australia. (Thanks to J-Lu in comments for clarification.) The image features all of the Ninjas fighting the Nindroids and also gives us a clue about one of the upcoming sets. In the middle of the image, you can see what appears to be the Nindroid MechDragon (70725). To the left of it is the Kai Fighter (70721) and to the right of the MechDragon is a mysterious aircraft. My guess is that is could be the Hover Hunter (70720) but there’s speculation that it is the NinjaCopter (70724). I’m gonna stick with the Hover Hunter since it doesn’t look like a Copter at all. Overall, I really dig the artwork and am totally looking forward to the Nindroid MechDragon set.

LEGO Watch System Revealed

LEGO Watch System

For those who have LEGO-related clothing and accessories, you be happy to know that LEGO will be releasing official watches for adults. In conjunction with ClicTime, LEGO has had a few adult watches before but this time it is a whole collection of them for AFOLs to choose from. How exciting!

According to aBlogtoWatch, these new watches are called the LEGO Watch System because they will have fully swappable parts so you can customize your watches any way you want from the watch links to the bezels. There are a variety of colors and styles for you to choose from so you can match your wardrobe. Along with the watches that just tell the time, there are a few that have other functions such as dates, chronograph, and calendars. These new timepieces, offered both in analog and digital versions, are mostly plastic but there are some that will have aluminum or stainless steel. In addition, they are also water resistant at various depths. The LEGO Watch System will be available this November with a price range of $85-$185. It looks like there’s another thing to add to your Christmas wishlist. *Ahem* I’m partial to the grey on grey one and the white one with the simple LEGO logo. 😉

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Villains Featuring MODOK

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Villains

Game Informer has released a new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes poster featuring some of the villains of the game including an article on Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing or MODOK. Game Director Arthur Parsons gives some details of the character and what he does in the game:

“Doctor Doom is scouring the planet looking for the cosmic Lego bricks from the Silver Surfer’s board and enlists the help of A.I.M., who supply him with a purpose-built ship, the Doom Tanker. This navigates the seas looking for bricks and is crewed by A.I.M. Goons under the jurisdiction of MODOK. So as the player is tracking the cosmic Lego bricks – when they least expect it – MODOK turns up to rain on their parade. As sinister as ever, MODOK assaults the player and tries to slow them down allowing Doctor Doom to escape in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Research Submarine.”

The poster itself shows many recognizable villains in the Marvel universe including Loki, Doctor Doom, Mystique, Kingpin, Doctor Octopus, Abomination, Bullseye, Magneto, Venom, MODOK, and the Green Goblin.

Update: Now that we have the Villains side of the poster, I decided to do a little Photoshop to combine both the Heroes and Villains like they’re ready to go into battle. Just waiting for an official image similar to what I’ve created.
