LEGO June 2013 Store Events

It seems that June will be a very Super Hero themed month at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home. The Jor-El minifigure polybag (5001623) will indeed be a FREE Exclusive with purchases of $75 or more while supplies last. There’s no mention of purchases of Super Heroes sets to get it so anything you buy at LEGO is fair game. On June 19th, Superman himself will be the Mini Model Build for the month. On June 22nd, the Club Meeting will be DC Super Heroes themed and you can help build the Black Zero Escape (76009) set. Members can also get a Superman Club t-shirt for participating.

Help Beyond the Brick Go To Brickworld Chicago 2013

Joshua Hanlon and Matthew Kay have been hosting Beyond the Brick podcast/videos for more than a year. The team would like to go to Brickworld Chicago 2013 and record some great footage to be released on a DVD in the future. They have set up a Kickstarter project and need your support to help fund their journey to Chicago. The money raised in the project will provide better equipment to take to Brickworld, supplies for the DVD, and rewards that are offered for supporting the project. There are lots of things included in the DVD:

Over 90 minutes of high quality edited content

Convention floor builder interviews

Guided tour of the displays at Brickworld Chicago

Creative LEGO building technique ideas from some of the world’s top builders

Video inside Brickworld Chicago events

Discussions with builders about how they prepare and set up for Brickworld Chicago

Anything else that catches our eye at the convention

The DVD won’t be available after the Brickworld Chicago 2013 and will only be available for supporters of the Kickstarter. As of this writing, they are already more than halfway to their goal of $500 with 28 days left until the project ends. The more money that is sent, the better quality of content Beyond the Brick will be able to provide. So if you’re interested in helping out the team, head over to Kickstarter and show your support.

LEGO Star Wars HH-87 Starhopper (75024) Official Images

The official images of the LEGO Star Wars HH-87 Starhopper (75024) have finally surfaced. There are no details as of yet of the pricing but we do know the set will be released sometime this year. There are 3 minifigures included in the set Cad Bane, Nikto Guard, and Obi-Wan Kenobi disguised as Rako Hardeen.

LEGO Announces Master Builder Academy Level 4 – Invention Designer

LEGO Master Builder Academy Level 4 - Steampunk

Today, LEGO announced on their Facebook Page there will be Level 4 of the Master Builder Academy. As you can see from the image above, it will be called “Invention Designer” which is pretty much a steampunk theme. The image shows many buildings with steam vehicles and airships including blimps and hot air balloons. The LEGO Master Builder Academy Level 4 includes kits 10-12 with 13 different designs and will be available in July.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Walmart Pre-order Bonus Revealed

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Walmart Pre-order - Iron Patriot

GoNintendo has revealed that Walmart is also having a pre-order bonus for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game due out this October and as you can see in the image above, it will be the Iron Patriot minifigure and the Gun Mounting System (30168). There’s no pre-order information on the Walmart as of now though. As we reported yesterday, Gamestop will be having a Spider-Man key chain as their bonus. Everyone would be hoping that Gamestop would be the retailer to have an exclusive minifigure as the pre-order bonus but now we know that Walmart stores will be doing that.

GoNintendo also notes that Amazon will have a $10 games credit when you purchase from them.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Gamestop Pre-order Bonus Revealed

Gamestop has revealed what their pre-order bonus will be for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game. As you can see, it will be a Spider-Man key chain. You can already pick up the Spider-man key chain Shop@Home but we’re not sure if this will be a different variant since there are no images of it as of this time. This is a little different and disappointing “bonus” since there were exclusive polybag minifigures in other LEGO video games in the past and this time, we only get an already released key chain that you can pretty much buy in stores. Amazon is also having a pre-order on the Marvel Super Heroes video game but hasn’t announced any exclusive bonuses yet. Will this news from Gamestop affect your purchasing decision on the game if you’re deciding to pre-order?

Update: Gamestop has included an image of the Spider-Man key chain and it is confirmed that it will be the same one as the one sold in LEGO stores.

If you are a Gamestop PowerUp Rewards member and you pre-order the game, you will also get a code to download exclusive content that has extra characters, vehicles, and races. Examples of the charafcters are Spider-Man Symbiote, Hawkeye, Thanos, and more. Quantities for this bonus are extremely limited.
