Retiring Soon Filter on LEGO Shop@Home

Many people including LEGO investors wonder when a certain set is reaching their end-of-life and will be retired. LEGO Shop@Home has now added an extremely useful “Retiring Soon” filter to help you find sets that will be gone in the near future. There are currently 8 sets in the list and it is certainly a page to return to in the future.

LEGO The Hobbit Pricing

According to Brickset, there is now pricing for the LEGO The Hobbit sets and will be available on November 27. There are also reports that Smith’s and Fred Meyer stores in the US have already started selling the sets ahead of schedule. This is some great news as the holiday season rolls around.

New Cast Members For LEGO: The Piece of Resistance

Deadline is reporting that Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman, and Alison Brie have joined the cast for LEGO: The Piece of Resistance. They will be joining a star-filled cast along with Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, and Elizabeth Banks who are already on board to voice characters in new animated movie. Ferrell will be voicing President Business, one of the main villains, while Neeson will be voicing Bad Cop, one of the President’s henchmen. Offerman will be voicing a pirate who wants revenge against Ferrell’s character and Brie will voice a character who has a big secret and is on Emmet’s team, played by Pratt. The expected released date of the movie has been moved up to February 7, 2014 instead of the original date of February 28 and is primed to be a great family movie.

LEGO Castle Returns In 2013?

With only a few Kingdoms sets released in the last two years, fans of the Castle theme weren’t satisfied over the lack of medieval sets despite the release of the Lord of the Rings sets. The wait for new Castle sets may be over in 2013 because over on Brickshop.nl, they have listed 5 “new” Castle sets that have an expected release date of August 1, 2013. The same sets are also listed under the “Legends” category, which are sets that are re-released due to it being very popular many years after their initial run. There’s no details about the sets but there’s speculation that the upcoming Castle sets could be a re-release of the older sets or a release with updated pieces. This is definitely unexpected news and we’ll be waiting to hear more about them.

LEGO Star Wars 501st Clone Trooper and Ahsoka Tano Minfigures on eBay

Continuing with the theme of new LEGO Star Wars minifigures showing up on eBay, a seller by the name of lego*dudes has listings of a 501st Clone Trooper from the AT-RT (75002) set and Ahsoka Tano from the Umbaran MHC (Mobile Heavy Cannon) (75013) set. The Clone Trooper will be new to the LEGO Star Wars line while Ashoka will get an updated look from the previous version.

More LEGO Galaxy Squad Sets In August 2013?

Brickshop.nl has posted what could be Wave 2 of the LEGO Galaxy Squad sets that are listed to have an August 1, 2013 release date as well as what appears to be the logo for the theme. There’s also another set in Wave 1 that wasn’t mentioned before in our previous post of the sets, the Galaxy Walker (30230). The sets from Wave 2 don’t have finalized names yet but do have set numbers which could be almost anything at this time ranging from more boxed sets to polybag minifigures. We’ll just have to wait and see what these are.
