LEGO Legends of Chima Target Practice (70101) Review

LEGO Legends of Chima Speedorz Disc Shooting (70101)

YourCreativeFriends continues with their reviews of the LEGO Legends of Chima sets with Target Practice (70101). This set has 101 pieces and retails for $14.99, around $0.15/piece. The set has Equila as the featured minifigure and comes with one instruction booklet and 5 game cards. What’s interesting about this set is that you use the Speedorz to hit the eagle dart and have it shoot at the targets. Take a look at the video below to get a feel of how the set work.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man 2013 Minifigure Leaked

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2013 Iron Man

Stud from YourCreativeFriends has informed me there are now images of the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man 2013 minifigure. My guess is that the minifigure is from the Iron Man Malibu Mansion Attack (76007) set but I can’t confirm that as of this time. From my knowledge of the Iron Man comics, Tony Stark wears a different suit in the Extremis storyline so it might not be the minifig in the Iron Man Extremis Sea Port Battle (76006). In the Iron Man vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Battle (76008), the set mentions Heartbreaker suit but I can’t find an image to compare it to. Could the minifig be wearing the unseen Heartbreaker suit? The suit on the minifig looks a lot like the one seen in the beginning of the Iron Man 3 trailer but not sure which version of the suit it is. If any of your readers recognize the version, let us know in the comments below. Again, thanks to YourCreativeFriends for this news.

Update: After seeing Minifigures’ comment and confirming with a friend who’s into the Iron Man comics, the suit in question could be a version of the Mark V portable suit.

After seeing many discussions on what the suit could be, we’re still not totally sure what the suit is called. It looks similar to other suits but there are subtle differences. We’ll just leave naming the suit in the air until we have confirmation.

Although the images are kind of small, you can see a few of the minifigures included in the sets. For the Jek-14 Starfighter you get Jek-14, Separatist Bounty Hunter, Special Forces Clone Trooper, and R4-G0. In the AT-TE, you get Mace Windu, Coleman Trebor, Clone Trooper Gunner, and 2 Battle Droids. Looking at the images, what do you think of these new sets?

LEGO Brick Patent Celebrates 55 Years Today

On January 28, 1958 at 1:58pm, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen and LEGO filed the patent for the modern LEGO brick. Before, the bricks’ locking ability were very limited and Christiansen and his engineers came up with an updated design for the now stud-and-tube coupling system, which we all know and love. This new design made all the models more stable with better locking ability. One unique feature is that the bricks will hold well together but can also be taken apart by anyone with ease. On this day 55 years ago, the original design was sent to Danish patent offices and patent DK92683C. Legetøjsbyggeelement. was granted on January 29, 1962. Many years after that, LEGO has became one of the most successful toy companies in the world.
