LEGO Star Wars 2022 Advent Calendar (75340) Revealed

LEGO has revealed the LEGO Star Wars 2022 Advent Calendar (75340) on the LEGO Shop. The set has 329 pieces and as I expected, it will be priced at $44.99 which is a $5 increase from previous years. The set is based on scenes from the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation animated special on Disney+. If you want to avoid spoilers, I suggest not scrolling anymore.

Fans will discover a surprise brick-built toy behind every door of the 2022 LEGO® Star Wars™ Advent Calendar (75340) in the run-up to Christmas. It features 8 LEGO Star Wars characters, including C-3PO and R2-D2 in holiday sweaters decorated with each other’s portraits, a Gonk Droid dressed as Santa and Darth Vader in a summer outfit from LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation on Disney+.

Build and play
A super holiday gift idea for Star Wars fans aged 6 and up, the calendar contains 16 mini builds, such as an ARC-170 Starfighter, Bad Batch Shuttle, V-35 Landspeeder and a moisture vaporator. Kids will find assorted builds and accessories to play out Battle of Hoth stories, a Wampa cave in which the Luke Skywalker LEGO minifigure can be hung upside down and a beach scene for Darth Vader on vacation.

Star Wars collectibles
The LEGO Group has been recreating starships, vehicles, locations and characters from the Star Wars universe since 1999, and there is a huge variety of sets for fans of all ages.

LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar (76231) First Look

The LEGO Building Instructions app has given a first look at the upcoming LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar (76231). Coming in at 268 pieces, the set is themed for the The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+. The set is expected to be released on September 1 but the pricing is still unknown due to the price increased that started today. I expect it to be priced at $44.99 now and not the usual $39.99 for the licensed advent calendars.

Build up to the holidays with the LEGO® Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar! Open a different door each day of December to discover a surprise gift. There are 6 minifigures waiting to be revealed, plus mini builds and accessories. As the big day approaches, bring the gifts together to recreate favorite scenes and Marvel adventures of your own.

LEGO VIP Points Now Live at Target

As reported yesterday, Target has started the LEGO VIP promotion where you can earn points with your purchases at Target. With their weekly reset, the landing page has updated and it gives you instructions on how to redeem the points. From now until January 31, 2023, you can earn 1 VIP point for every dollar spent on LEGO sets at Target. You will need to take a picture of your receipt, then upload the picture to the LEGO Rewards Center. A LEGO VIP account is required to participate and you can earn up to 1,000 points per calendar month.

Some will say that you will earn less VIP point and that is true since you earn 6.5 points/dollar spent instead of the 1:1 with Target however you can save 5% every order if you have the Target RedCard. With the amount of coupons and savings you get from Target, it pretty much about evens out. Also, Target likes to run sales from time to time on LEGO so there’s extra savings there as well.

Last Day to Shop for LEGO Before Price Increases

Today is the last day to get your orders in on the LEGO Shop and other retailers before the imminent price increases across numerous themes. Announced back in June, the price increase is due to the increased costs of raw materials and operating cost which LEGO has tried to hold off on passing to customers for a while. You can check out the list of sets that will get the price bump in just over 13 hours as of this post.

LEGO VIP Points Available at Target

There’s an image floating around the internet (can’t find original source) regarding LEGO VIP points being available at Target stores. The signage on the endcap says you can earn 1 VIP point for every dollar spent on LEGO sets at Target until January 31, 2023. The fine print also says that up to 1,000 VIP points can be earned in any calendar month. The QR code currently takes you to a blank page but I’m sure it’ll be updated soon.

I went to a few of my Target stores and they didn’t have any of the signs up yet and the shelves looked rather shallow. I’m not sure how Target will be implementing LEGO VIP points but I guess the receipt will give you a code to enter in the Rewards Center.

Thanks to Cedric for emailing it in.
