The LEGO Movie 2 Trading Cards (5005775) and Awesome Collector Album (5005777) Review

The LEGO Movie 2 Trading Cards (5005775) and Awesome Collector Album (5005777)

From now until February 24, there’s a promotion going on at LEGO Shop@Home for some The LEGO Movie 2 Trading Cards (5007557). With a purchase of $15, you can get one pack or with a purchase of 40, you can get three packs. Also if you’re a VIP member, you can also get the Awesome Collector Album (5005777) with a purchase of $15, limit one per VIP. I made a purchase when the promotional period started so let’s take a look at what I got.

The Awesome Collector Album comes in a sealable bag so you can safely store it away if you’re not looking at it. The front cover of the album shows Rex, Emmet, Lucy, and Sweet Mayhem and the back shows the 20 sets that have been released so far for TLM2.

Inside the Album, we get the exclusive Batman #1 red foil card that is included with every album. It is slotted inside the page and there’s a space below it showing which character it is. There are 36 cards to collect and each one has their own spot in the album. I will say that the openings for the cards are a bit small so you’ll have to bend the card slightly to slide it in.

Each pack of cards include four random ones to collect and one of those cards are the gold foil version. As you can see from my opening, I have two gold Rex cards and the other one is of Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi.

LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary New Edition

Last year I reported that there will be a new LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary: New Edition coming in April 2019. The last version of the book came out in 2014 with the Updated and Expanded version and the latest one will include LEGO Star Wars sets and minifigures that have been released in the last few years. Of course, we can’t forget about the exclusive minifigure that will also be included with the New Edition which should be revealed as we get closer to the release date.

The LEGO Movie 2 Fabuland Cameo

The LEGO Movie 2 Teaser

As we know by now, The LEGO Movie 2 will be full of cameos with the latest one being US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg which was revealed yesterday. Warner Bros. dropped another teaser spot today showing that scene and at the end, we get a look at some new characters including one that is a theme favorite of Just2Good, Fabuland. If you’re not familiar with Fabuland, it was a theme that started in 1979 and ran throughout the 1980s and it encouraged storytelling using anthropomorphic animal characters.

As you can see from the teaser video below, it shows a bunch of characters dancing and the one on the left is one of the Bulldogs from the theme. His appearance in the movie could suggest that he may appear in a summer wave set for The LEGO Movie 2 and it would be pretty cool to see that.

On a side note, we also get to see a Fox Suit Girl which could be a possible LEGO minifigure as well.

LEGO at the 2019 London Toy Fair

The 2019 London Toy Fair kicks off on Tuesday and it looks like LEGO will be back this year to show off some of their lineups for this year. According to the exhibit floor map, they won’t be on the floor itself with the other exhibitors but they have their own space in the Olympia Room which is tucked away on one side of the show floor. This may suggest that LEGO has a lot to show off or it’ll mostly be for The LEGO Movie 2 sets which there are a lot of.

If you remember from last year, LEGO did not attend the event and there was no reasoning given for it. It could be that the company was focusing on turning the company around after their financial results weren’t as encouraging as they expected for the year before. Anyways, I’m not sure if any LEGO fansites were invited to attend this year’s Toy Fair or if it’s just for retailers like with 2017 but hopefully there are some details that come out of it.

The LEGO Movie 2 Ruth Bader Ginsburg Cameo Revealed

More details of The LEGO Movie 2 are coming out as we get closer to the premiere and today’s reveal is probably the most strangest one so far. USA Today has reported that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be appearing in the movie and will play a part of Finn’s sister’s Systar System. When director Mike Mitchell was asked ‘Who’s the last person you would think to see in a Lego film as a minifig?,’ he answered Ginsburg who will be shown in a new trailer coming out tomorrow.

Just a warning, I don’t want any politics in the comments. I read every comment and will be deleting any that come in.
