Could We See More Continuity in Future LEGO City Sets?

LEGO City Pickup & Caravan (60182)

Official images of some of the new 2018 LEGO City sets came out today and eagle-eyed fans may have noticed some implied continuity with one of the sets. If you look closely at the family, they may look somewhat familiar. That is because the mother and father appear to be the same minifigures as the ones in the 2016 Fun in the Park – City People Pack (60134), minus the color swap on the mother’s pants. The baby, however, looks to be grown up now and is enjoying the outdoors with his parents!

The continuity theory is interesting for LEGO to throw in because since we grow up with these sets, it’s nice that the sets also grow up with us as well. I do look forward to seeing more continuity in future LEGO City sets. Maybe next year we can see the child as an adult and the parents be older adults.

In our last set of reveals of the official images of the 2018 sets, we now have a few of them for LEGO Creator. To be honest, I do like the look of the Drone Explorer and the Modular Skate House. I’ll keep this list going as more sets are revealed.

Some More Character Reveals for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Venom 2099

As we get ever so closer to the release of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, there are still more characters that are still being revealed on social media. Some of the latest playable characters include Venom 2099, Red She-Hulk, Darkhawk, and Hit-Monkey. There’s probably a lot more that have been subtlely revealed during the past couple of livestreams but I’m not going to search for them.

Some of these characters may sound pretty obscure to casual comic book fans but that’s one of the major selling points of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. We most likely won’t see 99% of thm in LEGO minifigure form but at least we get to play them in the game.

The LEGO Batman Movie Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman Keychain (5004928) Available Online at Target

The LEGO Batman Movie Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman Keychain (5004928)

One of the more elusive items for The LEGO Batman Movie was the Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman Keychain (5004928) which was only available at Cinemark when the movie first premiered back in February. As I reported a few days ago, the keychain polybag will also be available at Target for their holiday ad in which you can get it for free with a purchase of $30 or more on LEGO Batman products or buy it individually for $5.99 each.

We now know that you can also purchase it online at the same price as well. This is convenient for those who don’t want to go out and search for them. It’s nice to know that this polybag is actually a wider release product since not that many people had a Cinemark location near them.

LEGOLAND New York

Merlin Entertainments has announced that LEGOLAND New York will be starting construction soon and will be opening in 2020. The park will be located in Goshen and will be open seasonally from April 1 to November 1. In addition, there will also be a LEGOLAND Hotel that will be open year round as well. LEGOLAND New York will be the 9th LEGOLAND park in the world.

Merlin Entertainments moves forward with LEGOLAND® New York Merlin Entertainments Chief Executive Officer Nick Varney officially declares the launch of the Park

GOSHEN, N.Y. (Oct. 25, 2017) — Merlin Entertainments Chief Executive Officer Nick Varney officially announced that LEGOLAND® New York is being built. The gathering took place at the Palacio Catering and Conference Center in Goshen today, Oct. 25, with more than 250 people attending.

After Varney officially announced that LEGOLAND New York will open in 2020, more than 30,000 LEGO bricks were dumped onto the stage by construction vehicles and 1,500 balloons cascaded from the ceiling much to the delight of local school children in attendance.

“We have spent a lot of time building relationships in the community, listening and responding to concerns, and we are looking forward to building a theme park that will enhance the community and be a tremendous neighbor,” said Varney. “I am honored to announce LEGOLAND New York is officially moving forward.”

After more than a year of public meetings and hearings in addition to a thorough and transparent review process by officials, LEGOLAND New York has been granted conditional approval of its
