LEGO at the 2019 London Toy Fair

The 2019 London Toy Fair kicks off on Tuesday and it looks like LEGO will be back this year to show off some of their lineups for this year. According to the exhibit floor map, they won’t be on the floor itself with the other exhibitors but they have their own space in the Olympia Room which is tucked away on one side of the show floor. This may suggest that LEGO has a lot to show off or it’ll mostly be for The LEGO Movie 2 sets which there are a lot of.

If you remember from last year, LEGO did not attend the event and there was no reasoning given for it. It could be that the company was focusing on turning the company around after their financial results weren’t as encouraging as they expected for the year before. Anyways, I’m not sure if any LEGO fansites were invited to attend this year’s Toy Fair or if it’s just for retailers like with 2017 but hopefully there are some details that come out of it.

The LEGO Movie 2 Ruth Bader Ginsburg Cameo Revealed

More details of The LEGO Movie 2 are coming out as we get closer to the premiere and today’s reveal is probably the most strangest one so far. USA Today has reported that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be appearing in the movie and will play a part of Finn’s sister’s Systar System. When director Mike Mitchell was asked ‘Who’s the last person you would think to see in a Lego film as a minifig?,’ he answered Ginsburg who will be shown in a new trailer coming out tomorrow.

Just a warning, I don’t want any politics in the comments. I read every comment and will be deleting any that come in.

Chevy Announces Full-Sized LEGO 2019 Chevy Silverado

LEGO 2019 Chevy Silverado

Yesterday, LEGO teased a big reveal today and it has been announced at the North American International Auto Show that Chevrolet has teamed up with LEGO to create a full-sized LEGO 2019 Chevy Silverado. It took more than 2,000 hours to plan and build it using 334,544 pieces and it also has working lights. What’s even more exciting is that it will be making an appearance in The LEGO Movie 2. Check out the press release below.

DETROIT — Chevrolet and students from the Oxford Community School’s FIRST LEGO® League and Detroit’s Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary’s A World in Motion Program unveiled the first-ever full-size LEGO® Silverado today at the North American International Auto Show just ahead of the show opening to the public. The model is an exact life-size replica of the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss, and it is the first full-size Chevy vehicle built entirely of LEGO bricks.

The LEGO Silverado continues the partnership between Chevy and Warner Bros. Pictures that began in 2017 with “The LEGO Batman Movie” and the LEGO Batmobile from Chevy. This partnership builds on the Silverado marketing efforts that launched earlier this month.

A custom mini-build of the Silverado High Country will make an appearance in the new big-screen animated adventure “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” when it debuts in theaters on Feb. 8. In this fun and action-packed sequel, the heroes of “The LEGO Movie” reunite to save their beloved city from a new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from space.

The LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Reviews – A Teaser of Cameos?

The LEGO Movie 2 Emmet's Reviews Gremlins

Warner Bros. has started a new online campaign for The LEGO Movie 2 called Emmet’s Reviews in which he does a super quick review on previous Warner Bros. movies. Some of the movies that Emmet reviews are Gremlins, Beetlejuice, Lord of the Rings, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Goonies, and Wizard of Oz.

Could these reviews be a teaser for what we could see in The LEGO Movie 2 in terms of cameos? We already know Batman is in it and Gal Gadot will be voicing Wonder Woman. The four main characters from The Wizard of Oz will also be in the movie since there are some Collectible Minifigures of them coming out soon. The only things we aren’t unsure of are Gremlins, Beetlejuice, LOTR, and The Goonies, however, note that all of them have been released in minifigure form. What’s even more interesting is that all of the franchises have been in LEGO Dimensions. Is The LEGO Movie 2 also a way to pay homage to the game as well?
