LEGO FORMA Super Set Giveaway

LEGO FORMA Koi (81000)

LEGO dived into paid crowdsourcing last year with them introducing LEGO FORMA on Indiegogo. It seemed pretty popular as everything sold out before the scheduled end date and it’s going for quite a lot on the secondary market. Midway through the campaign, they started the Referral Program and we were actually the grand prize winner of the Super Set which included the base Koi model and all of three skins. To thank you guys, I will be giving it away as I have already backed a set of my own. All you have to do is to complete the tasks on the form below. I’ll run it for a week and it’ll be worldwide since it was only available in the US and UK. If you can’t see the widget below, head on over to this link.

Could LEGO be Switching to Shared Convention Exclusives?

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Bust (75227)

Yesterday, the exclusive LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Bust (75227) was announced for Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago and it was also announced that Target will be carrying it as well. This brings the question of has LEGO ended the idea of “con exclusives?”

As you probably know by now, LEGO has been releasing exclusive sets and minifigures at various conventions such as San Diego and New York Comic Cons as well as Star Wars Celebration which are only available at the convention or on the secondary market. Since Target will also be getting the Darth Vader Bust, that’ll allow fans who aren’t able to attend to purchase it as well.

Could this also be the start of LEGO shared exclusives similar to what other companies, like Funko, do for some of the con products where the same items will be available at various retailers but with a different sticker than the con ones. I do like this idea as fans have been voicing their displeasure of having con exclusives for years and maybe LEGO has finally listened. We’ll see once the SDCC exclusive are announced in a few months. What do you guys think?

LEGO Ideas Steamboat Willie (21317)

All aboard Steamboat Willie to celebrate Mickey Mouse’s birthday!

Disney Mickey Mouse fans will love this LEGO® Ideas 21317 Steamboat Willie building toy marking the 90th anniversary of the most famous cartoon character ever. Mickey Mouse made his screen debut in a 1928 black-and-white animated short film called ‘Steamboat Willie’, which was also the first Disney film to have synchronized sound. This LEGO brick version of the S.S. Willie features steam pipes that move up and down and paddle wheels that rotate when the boat is pushed along. The boat’s bridge has room for a minifigure and play-inspiring nautical details such as the ship’s wheel, life buoy and buildable bell. On deck there is a working crane to lift the ‘potato bin’ cargo aboard and this unique toy building set comes with new-for-April-2019 Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse minifigures, each with special silver-colored decoration, plus a parrot figure. An ideal LEGO set for kids

Rumored LEGO Stranger Things Set in 2019?

Here’s a new LEGO rumor that a reader has pointed me to from Brick Fanatics that may pique your interest as they are reporting that we may see a LEGO Stranger Things set coming later this year. With Season 3 of the show coming this summer on Netflix, it’s not out of the question that a releasing a set would be a smart thing to do. Brick Fanatics is reporting that the set could include a human world location and part of the Upside Down. If this is a legit set, we’ll probably see some of the kids including Eleven, Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will.

On a similar note, a saw rumor fly by a few weeks ago but I sort of dismissed it but now Brick Fanatics also comes in with this piece of news. They’re a pretty reliable source of some of the more recent sets so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Don’t set your expectations too high if we don’t get a LEGO Stranger Things set. As will all rumors, they are just that until LEGO themselves start teasing them or officially announces it.

LEGO Star Wars Snowspeeder – 20th Anniversary Edition (30384) Polybag Revealed

LEGO Star Wars Snowspeeder – 20th Anniversary Edition (30384)

Earlier this year, we got our first look at the LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary sets that are coming out in April. One of these sets include the Podracer (30461) polybag but it look like there’s a new one that has started hitting store shelves. Thanks to Burnt Orange Bricks, the Snowspeeder (30384) polybag has been found at Target stores. Coming in at 49 pieces and retailing for $3.99, it is a recreation of the Rebel Snowspeeder. According to Burnt, the Podracer polybag has also been found at Target. I have the DPCI numbers of 204-00-4845 and 204-00-4899 but I’m not sure which one is for which polybag. Those numbers also do not show up yet on Brickseek so I suggest going there to look for them for now.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers Tower (40334) Promotional Set Revealed

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers Tower (40334)

Unlike the US, the LEGO Store Calendars in other countries still show some upcoming gift-with-purchase promotions and for April, there’s a cool LEGO Marvel Super Heroes one. According to the Spanish LEGO Store flyer, there is a Marvel one with purchases of 79.99€ and it has been revealed to be the Avengers Tower (40334).

This set was accidentally put on store shelves at one of the Certified Stores and it features the Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years Avengers Tower. It has a microscale version of the tower along with the Quinjet as well as an exclusive Iron Man minifigure.

This set is similar to the LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (40289) promotion that we got last year. There’s no word yet on availability here in the US but we’ll get details of it some time next month which I’ll let you guys know. Thanks to Joey for the heads up.
