LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) Official Image

LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249)

Late last year, an image of the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter 2018 (5005249) surfaced online and now we have the official image of the set. Brickshop.nl has listed the set available starting in March but we’ll see if there is a promotion for it on Shop@Home when the March Store Calendar is available in a few weeks. The set basically consists of a minifigure with a new torso and a pair of bunny ears along with a paintbrush and an egg as accessories. Like before, the minifigure will come in a cardboard box.

For last year’s Iconic Easter (5004468) set, it was originally available for purchase at Toys R Us at the end of February and subsequently a promo at TRU. It eventually became an unannounced promotion on Shop@Home which only lasted for a few days.

I’ll let you guys know when it will become available and at what retailer as soon as there’s news about it.

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) Official Image

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038)

Last night, I reported on some of the details for the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) skyline set and now we have the official image of the set courtesy of Promobricks. As I mentioned before, the set will consist of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, the Mandalay Bay Hotel, the Luxor Hotel, the Encore Hotel, the Stratosphere Tower, and the Fremont Street Experience. As far as the building choices are concerned, I feel there are much more iconic buildings that LEGO could have used and there are too many to list off.

The set will have 487 pieces and retail for €39.99 and it also includes a printed 1×2 tile of the Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada sign as well as the 1×8 tile of the set. The release date is still up in the air due to the events at the Mandalay Bay last year causing it to be delayed. I’ll let you know when it becomes available.

LEGO at the 2018 New York Toy Fair

The New York Toy Fair is happening next month and there’s some details about the LEGO booth that you should need to know before you get your hopes up about seeing the summer 2018 LEGO sets. Various media outlets have receieved their emails for the LEGO “Save the Date” preview party, including one of my contacts, and according to the email, LEGO will not be displaying any of the summer 2018 product lineup. This means there will be nothing for the 2018 second half sets (after June releases) which is a disappointment because it is something that fans really look forward to at this time of the year.

However, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be anything on display at the LEGO booth. We can probably look forward to the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Infinity War sets and the LEGO Star Wars Solo sets because they’ll be out before June. Other than that, there isn’t really anything else of importance since we’ve pretty much seen everything already that is set to be released in March-May besides LEGO Speed Champions. I don’t see them listed on the February 2018 Store Calendar so they’re probably spring releases.

This little detail about the 2018 New York Toy Fair comes to light a few days after it was revealed that LEGO won’t be at the London Toy Fair and will be somewhat restricted at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. I’m not sure why LEGO decided to change up the things at this year’s toy fairs but it’s a little saddening … Continue

LEGO Ideas Embraer A-29 Super Tucano Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Embraer A-29 Super Tucano (Smoke Squadron) by Alex Paschoaletto is the latest project to get 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project wasn’t really on the top supported projects list until the beginning of the year when some high profile social media accounts picked it up including the Brazilian Air Force and Aviões e Músicas. As for the project itself, the build is the Brazilian Air Force’s Embraer A-29 Super Tucano and it has some features including a retractable landing gear, moveable rudder and flaps, as well as a removable canopy. The overall build consists of about 400 pieces and is 1:39 scale. It is the first project to reach the First 2018 Review Stage.

LEGO Black VIP Card Shipping Clarification

LEGO Black VIP Card

If you’ve purchased the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) before December 31, 2017, you will be eventually getting the black VIP card if you’ve haven’t already. I’ve gotten an update for a reader who emailed in about their experience with LEGO Customer Service about his situation.

It appears there was a glitch in their system with VIPs who have opted out or never consented to physical mailings and their cards weren’t created with the original batch that went out last year. LEGO has since created a new list for those particular VIPs and their cards will be sent out soon.

Also, the rep also stated that any upcoming special promotions that goes with the black VIP card are attached to the VIP account and you don’t actually need to have the physical card on hand. This info is very helpful because I’ve had a lot of questions come in about it.

Hopefully this answers the main questions that have been asked by those who have purchased the UCS Falcon and haven’t gotten their cards yet. Again this only applies to those who got it before last year’s deadline and people who ordered the Falcon after the new year restock will not be getting the card. Thanks to David for emailing in about it.

LEGO at the 2018 London Toy Fair

One of the more exciting times at the beginning of the year are the upcoming toy fairs and the first one coming up is the London Toy Fair. For many years now, LEGO exhibits the summer line up at the London Toy Fair and we get the first details for various sets and themes. Unfortunately for 2018, it doesn’t look like LEGO will be at the London Toy Fair as they are not listed as one of the exhibitors of the event. This is the first time since I’ve started this site that they won’t be attending.

I’m not sure of the reasoning behind it but the financial results from last year may have contributed to it as the company tries to focus on rebounding in 2018. Another reasoning could be to avoid reporting details of the summer sets but that’s trivial because there are already leaks and it doesn’t look to be stopping any time soon. I remember Huw from Brickset said that LEGO last year was only allowing retailers to the booth.

Whatever the reasoning, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any details of the LEGO summer 2018 sets at London so we’ll have to wait another week for the Nuremberg Toy Fair where we’ll actually get images of the sets. Again, we’ll have to rely on our German friends Promobricks and Zusammengebaut for the details. There’s also the New York Toy Fair in the middle of February and we hope to have someone on the floor for us at that event. I’m … Continue

Rumored LEGO Harry Potter 2018 Collectible Minifigures List

It looks like there are more rumors coming out for the return of LEGO Harry Potter later this year. As I reported before, it seems there will be a Collectible Minifigures series for the theme and now it appears that there’s a reported list of minifigures of this wave. A majority of characters listed haven’t appeared as minifigure form so that’s nice. This also fits in to the whole Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme that the forums are talking about.

Harry Potter – Accessories: cloak, sorting hat
Ron Weasley – Accessories: cloak, frog, sweets
Hermione Granger – Accessories: cloak, wand, book
James Potter – Accessory: Golden Snitch, broom, Quidditch robes
Lily Potter – Accessory: baby with scar on forehead
Fred Weasley – Accessories: Marauder’s Map, fireworks
George Weasley
Vernon Dursley – Accessories: shotgun
Petunia Dursley – Accessory: letter
Dudley Dursley in Pajamas – Accessories: cake, pig tail
Rolanda Hooch – Accessories: broom, whistle
Unknown
Bloody Baron
Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington (Nearly Headless Nick)
Gray Lady
Fat Friar
Moaning Myrtle – Accessory: Tom Riddle’s diary

Sirius Black – Accessories: Dog

Like I’ve stated before, this is an unofficial rumored list so take it with a grain of salt until LEGO announces it.
