New LEGO Ninjago Pods Available at LEGOLAND California

The LEGO pods that have been released this year seem to be pretty popular and it looks like there will be some more coming soon. A Reddit user has found two more LEGO Ninjago pods that has showed up at LEGOLAND California. These new pods featuring Jay (853758) and Cole (853759) are now in cardboard packaging instead of a polybag like with Kai. THe builds include an armor rack along with their respective weapons.

Usually products that show up at LEGOLAND first will be available later at either LEGO Brand Stores/Shop@Home or other retailers like Toys R Us so we’ll see what happens with these two new Ninjago pods.

LEGO Seasonal Flowers (40187) Official Images

LEGO Seasonal Flowers (40187)

LEGO has uploaded a new LEGO Seasonal set featuring some Flowers (40187). There are two flowers in this 100 piece set, a red rose with a white vase and a daisy in a red vase. This is a nice little gift set that you could give to a loved one during Valentine’s Day. There’s no price point or release date but I assume it’ll be $9.99 and be available at the beginning of the year.

LEGO Releases Statement Regarding Downtown Diner (10260) Minifigure Faces

LEGO Creator Downtown Diner (10260)

The LEGO Creator Downtown Diner (10260) was announced a few weeks ago as the next modular building that is set to be released on January 1. You may have noticed that the minifigures will now have facial expressions instead of the usual smiley faces that we’ve gotten for the past decade. A lot of longtime fans of the modulars were disappointed in the change as it strayed away from what they were used to. LEGO has been following those comments and the Creator Expert team has released a statement regarding the use of facial expressions in the Downtown Diner modular.

Over the past 10 years our modular buildings have evolved in many ways. We’ve added more interior details, more story-telling and more emotional triggers such as unique decorations on windows & Minifigure torsos. We now feel the time is right to bring the Minifigure expression in line with all the amazing details now offered throughout our models. We have always loved the classic smiley face for its versatility and nostalgia value, but are now excited to explore the new possibilities expressive faces will offer us.

All LEGO BrickHeadz 2018 Seasonal Sets Revealed

LEGO BrickHeadz Valentine's Bee (40270)

Earlier we’ve posted images of the LEGO BrickHeadz Valentine’s Bee (40270) and on the back of the box, we can also see the rest of this year’s seasonal offerings which include:

Easter – #30 Bunny
Halloween – #31 Witch
Thanksgiving – #32 Turkey
Christmas – #33 Mr. Claus & #34 Mrs. Claus

If these sets follow the release dates of the previous seasonal sets, they should be available a month before the event so the Bunny will be in March, With in September, Turkey in October, and the Clauses will be in November.

It’s kind of a bummer that LEGO has elected to show all the offerings because I do enjoy waiting for the reveals on the back of the building instructions like with the usual LEGO Seasonal sets. What do you think of these sets and will you be picking up all six for this year?

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod Promo Clarification

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod

As you may or may not have known by now, the upcoming promotion for the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376) has been officially cancelled. I’ve gotten some clearer information about what will be replacing it for customers here in the US. They are as follows:

– In US and Canada, we will be offering 100 bonus VIP points on all Star Wars sets purchased through LEGO Brand Retail stores or on shop.LEGO.com

– The promotion is only valid on LEGO Star Wars sets and excludes items from our extended line such as keychains, magnets, books, etc.

– Offer is valid December 15th-24th

– Europe is running a 10% discount on Star Wars sets (excluding the UCS Falcon) during the same time.

The cancellation of the Darth Vader Pod is a bummer since fans have been waiting for it to complete their collection of Pods that have been released this year. The 100 VIP bonus point is basically a $5 discount and is probably valued at the same price so it’s an even promo although I would’ve preferred something tangible.

Thanks to Jesse for clearing this up.

LEGO BrickHeadz Valentine’s Bee (40270) Revealed

LEGO BrickHeadz Bee (40270)

Remember the buildable characters that we had for the LEGO Seasonal sets in the past couple of years? It looks like the Seasonal sets are now expanding to the LEGO BrickHeadz line. LEGO has uploaded the first one in the series with the Valentine’s Bee (40270). It has 140 pieces and will most likely retail for $9.99 like before. In addition to the bee, there’s also some roses as supplementary builds as well.
