LEGO DC Comics Batman of Zur-En-Arrh SDCC 2014 Exclusive Minifigure

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman of Zur-En-Arrh SDCC 2014 Exclusive Minifigure

Day 3 of San Diego Comic Con 2014 has passed and again, I bring back home with me another exclusive LEGO minifigure for this year. Today’s minifigure was the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman of Zur-En-Arrh. He is a fairly obscure character from DC and was introduced in France Herron’s 1958 Batman #113 Batman – The Superman of Planet-X. Zur-En-Arrh is actually a scientist names Tlano who was inspired to play the same role as Batman from Earth. In Grant Morrison’s resurrection of Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, he is a backup personality of Bruce Wayne used in case if he was mindwiped.

On to the minifigure itself, he has the same mold as Batman except with different colors. We know that Batman works in black and sometimes in very, very dark gray but this version of Batman is the total opposite. His main color scheme is purple and red with some yellow on the arms and belt. Also note that the chest emblem is different and he wears a purple cape. He has a double-sided head with a happy expression on one side and a clenched teeth expression on the other. His accessory is a bat.

Overall, the SDCC 2014 Batman of Zur-En-Arrh is what an exclusive minifigure should be. It will probably not be produced again in an official set but since guessing what LEGO will produce in the future is a crapshoot so who knows if we’ll see him again or not. In the meantime, I’m glad that I was able to get … Continue

LEGO The Hobbit Bard the Bowman SDCC 2014 Exclusive Minifigure

LEGO The Hobbit Bard the Bowman SDCC 2014 Exclusive

Here are some clearer images of the LEGO The Hobbit Bard the Bowman San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive minifigure. Earlier this morning I posted a picture from my potato phone but I’m home now so you can get a clearer look at him. As you can see from the packaging, it also says The Battle of Five Armies.

I was also told today that this minifigure will be available in a set in the future just like Azog from last year. Ace over at FBTB also has confirmed this piece of news as well. For fans who really wanted Bard but couldn’t go to SDCC, you can rest assured that he will be available at some point in the future.

Batman and Super Angry Kitty Attack (70817) Revealed at SDCC 2014

The LEGO Movie SDCC 2014

Last week, we reported there will be a new The LEGO Movie set coming out in January 2015. Today at San Diego Comic Con 2014, LEGO officially announced the Batman and Super Angry Kitty Attack (70817). By releasing this set next year, it makes me think there will be more sets in the wave and not just having a fairly small set by itself.

Unfortunately, the box does have the LEGO watermark on it so I can’t post pictures of it. It will consist of 115 pieces and retail for $9.99. The set is pretty much what you see above on the right. You get Batman with a new clenched teeth expression and a grappling gun, a very Angry Kitty, a Skeletron, and a Micro Manager.

LEGO The Hobbit The Lonely Mountain (79018) Revealed

LEGO The Hobbit The Lonely Mountain (79018)

In addition to the bombshell that was reported while I was away from my computer, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed one of the new LEGO The Hobbit sets that is due out later this year, The Lonely Mountain (79018). The set consists of 866 pieces and has five minifigures: Bilbo Baggins, Balin, Dwalin, Fili, and Kili as well as Smaug the dragon. The set will retail for $129.99 and will be based on The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Like with many sets that have been recently revealed, The Lonely Mountain will be displayed at San Diego Comic Con 2014 for attendees to get a closer look at.

Zur-En-Arrh Batman Revealed as Exclusive Minifigure at SDCC 2014

FBTB has just dropped one of the biggest bombshells for LEGO at San Diego Comic Con 2014. Ace has revealed that LEGO will be giving away the DC Comics Zur-En-Arrh Batman as one of their exclusive minifigures. Although there are no images at this time, the outfit will probably look similar to the one picture above. Zur-En-Arrh will probably be given away either Friday or Saturday and The Collector on the day that’s left over. This will probably be one of the most sought for minifigures this year at SDCC. Check out the details of the giveaway process here.

If you’re not familiar with Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, he was first introduced by France Herron as an alien named Tlano from the planet Zur-En-Arrh. Later on in Grant Morrison’s version, he was brought back as Bruce Wayne’s backup personality in case Batman was mindwiped or driven to insanity.

Update: Back in May, LEGO released an image (see below) promoting LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Batman is shown standing in front of different suits and also pictured was the Zur-En-Arrh outfit which could be the one that will be given out at SDCC. Thanks to Dave for the reminder.

LEGO Classic TV Series Batmobile Revealed for SDCC 2014

LEGO SDCC 2014 Classic Batmobile

Complex has revealed the exclusive LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Classic TV series Batmobile that will be sold at San Diego Comic Con 2014. Since this year marks the 75th anniversary of Batman, LEGO has created this little beauty for SDCC and Batman fans will no doubt be wanting to get their hands on this little set. It has all the details of the ’66 Batmobile including the front part of the car and the tail fins as well. The only thing that missing is the Batman logo on the side of the car but we can’t expect everything little detail in this already cool little set. The Batmobile has 152 pieces and will be sold for $39.99 like the other exclusive sets. It also includes the Batman and Robin minifigures in their classic outfits as well, which unfortunately are the same ones from the Juniors sets. Thanks to Chris for the heads up.
