LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) Signing Event Revealed

LEGO hasn’t officially revealed the LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) yet but there is already a flyer being given out at a German LEGO Brand Store showing the set and announcing a signing event for it. The ISS was the winner of the fan vote which allowed a previously not approved project to become an official LEGO Ideas set and it garnered almost 46% of the votes. The fan designer signing event will be held at the Nürnberg LEGO Brand Store on January 31 from 17:00-20:00.

LEGO Ideas 10 Year Anniversary Fan Vote Winner Announced

LEGO Ideas International Space Station

A few weeks ago, LEGO ran the LEGO Ideas 10 Year Anniversary Fan Vote which allows you to vote on four projects that are given another chance to become an official set. The contest is now over and the winner has been announced this morning as the International Space Station by XCLD. The votes have also been revealed and the project had 10,438 votes or 45.6% of all the votes placed. The other project had the following number of votes:

Stitch by Legohaulic – 5,739
Sega Classic Arcade Machines by SpacySmoke- 3,788
Small YELLOW by Nathan Sawaya – 2,924

This was a pretty surprising outcome as I expected another project to be chosen. Nevertheless, congratulations to XCLD and we’ll know more details about the International Space Station when it is released some time in 2020.

LEGO Ideas International Space Station Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The International Space Station by XCLD is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This is actually the second time XCLD reached the required amount of supporters for the International Space Station, albeit a different version. The first one hit 10k back in 2015. This updated version consists of about 850 pieces (station: 650, shuttle: 50, support: 150) and is in scale with the Space Shuttle from the LEGO Ideas Women of NASA (21312). The model features two Soyuz capsules and two progress capsules. It now joins the SpaceX Falcon Heavy as the projects to reach the Second 2018 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas International Space Station Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The International Space Station by XCLD is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. A day ago, it was 2100 supporters away from 10k but with the help of Reddit, it hit the milestone a short time ago. This was one of the projects that had less than a month before it would have been archived.

In its current configuration, the set comes with 2 Soyuz and 2 Progress capsules as well as astronaut and cosmonaut minifigures. There are also a lot of play features that you can read more on at the project link above. XCLD has provided alternate sizes of the ISS in case LEGO thinks the original XL project is too large.

LEGO Ideas projects that were grandfathered in from LEGO CUUSOO now have only 26 days to get the remaining number of supporters before they will be archived. You can check out those projects here. The International Space Station now joins The Discworld, Science Adventures, Medieval Market Street, Disney Princess Frozen Elsa’s Ice Palace, Douglas DC-3, and Bricksauria – Tyrannosaurus Rex in a jam packed First 2015 Review Stage.
