LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) Rumored for January 2016

There’s some huge news/rumors coming from Just2Good this morning. He has noted that there are some “very reliable sources” saying that we’ll be getting a direct-to-consumer LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) on January 1, 2016. The set will be over 4,600 pieces and retail at $350. The set will be able to open up to see the interior details and such. J2G also mentioned that this set will be based on the original Ghostbusters films and not for the upcoming movie with the female crew. Finally, he mentions there will be a modular set planned for next near and the the firehouse isn’t a replacement for it.

As we all know by now, there have been some Ghostbusters Firehouse sets that weren’t approved to become official sets on LEGO Ideas but we did get the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). Additionally, we are also getting some LEGO Dimensions expansion packs so we do know that LEGO does have a license to create Ghostbusters products.

Again, this is all speculation but Just2Good has proven that he is a reliable source of upcoming sets. If you’ve been holding off on getting the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108), I suggest you pick one up soon to go along with the new LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827) since he didn’t mention the set coming with one. Sound off in the comments if you’re getting one if it actually becomes a set.

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters V2 by Sergio Herencias

A few months ago, we featured a LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters MOC by Sergio Herencias which is inspired by Brent Waller’s version. Sergio has emailed me and said that he has updated the interiors of the firehouse with many details from the Ghostbusters movies including Egon’s lab, recreation area, and the containment unit/storage facility/protection grid. The MOC has 5,704 LEGO pieces so if you think you have enough parts, Sergio has kindly provided the LDD file on his website for free. You can also check out all the firehouse’s new details and features on the same page.

Also, the first version of Sergio’s Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters is currently on LEGO Ideas and has garnered 3,105 supporters as of this writing so if you want to give your support on the project, you can head over there and do so.

Will the LEGO Ecto-1 Have the Curiosity Mars Rover Effect?

LEGO CUUSOO Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (21104)

If you’ve been looking to get your hands on the LEGO CUUSOO/Ideas NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover from Shop@Home, you are most likely out of luck. The set has been completely sold out for a few months now and will not be sold again. There were times when the set would be up for purchase again but they would be quickly sold out in a few hours. It looks like the secondary market will be your best chance to get it such as eBay, Amazon, or BrickLink.

This brings me to the latest LEGO Ideas product that will be hitting the shelves in a few days, the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). Seeing that Ghostbusters is a more well known entity than the Mars Curiosity Rover, it will probably sell out and go temporarily out of stock when it becomes available on June 1st. LEGO Brand Stores will also be selling them on that day, at least mine will, so you may be able to snag one there as well. Normal LEGO sets usually have about a two year shelf life but some sets are very exclusive with a limited production run such as the Rover and 4×4 Crawler Exclusive Edition (41999). To fans of both LEGO and Ghostbusters, many people will probably purchase multiple sets, one to build and one to save. Others such as investors and resellers will most likely get multiples as well for their means. Does the … Continue

LEGO Ghostbusters HQ Instructions by Brent Waller

It has been announced that Brent Waller’s Ghostbusters Ecto-1 will be the next LEGO CUUSOO project to be released as an official set but will not include the iconic Firehouse. Many people were disappointed but don’t worry. Assuming you have the correct amount of pieces, Brent has provided instructions for the Firehouse for FREE on his website in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) format. You can see in the image below that the Ghostbusters HQ/Firehouse is taller than the Town Hall (10224) modular building so it makes a great addition to your city!
