LEGO Dimensions Lord of the Rings Sauron Minifigure Coming in the Future?

LEGO Dimensions Lord of the Rings Sauron

Earlier today, Warner Bros released a new LEGO Dimensions trailer featuring Christopher Lloyd and the Back to the Future Doc Brown Fun Pack (71230). Clearly the focus was on the Doc Brown character but if you watched closely at the trailer at the 2:00 mark, they show a glimpse of Sauron from Lord of the Rings.

As we know by now, there wasn’t an official Sauron LEGO minifigure released when the theme was still going and many fans have been waiting for that particular minifigure. LEGO Dimensions could be a platform to release Sauron whether it be in a Fun Pack, a Team Pack, or even a Level Pack since there are already some LOTR characters already announced in the game such as Gandalf, Gollum, Gimli, and Legolas. We’ve already seen many exclusive minifigures for LEGO Dimensions that will be included in the game so I wouldn’t be that surprised if we see Sauron be added in the future.

What do you guys think? Do you think that a Sauron LEGO minifigure could be coming to LEGO Dimensions? Let me know in the comments.

LEGO Toys R Us Super 2 Day Sale

Starting today, Toys R Us is having a 2 day sale on select LEGO products. The first deal is a 2 for $5 on the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007). Basically you are saving $3 for every two that you buy which is a pretty good deal considering that they go for $3.99 each. This is an in-store only offer. As you can see from the image above, TRU stores are stocking a whole lot of them. I can personally say that I put out six brand new boxes so if you’re in San Diego and are still looking for them, the La Mesa TRU has them.

The other notable LEGO sale is $15 off for select LEGO Lord of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit sets including the Lake-town Chase (79013), An Unexpected Gathering (79003), Pirate Ship Ambush (79008), and Battle at the Black Gate (79007). These are pretty good deals for sets that are soon to be retired. This offer is valid for online and in stores.

Thanks to Stephen for the heads up.

LEGO Lord of the Rings 2014 Preliminary Set Names and Details

Not even a day after we got images of the 2014 LEGO The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug sets, there is already news for the LEGO Lord of the Rings sets. BlackTiger13 on Eurobricks has seen some preliminary images and has given the names of five sets in the next wave as well as some descriptions of them. He also notes that the images he’s seen is from “someone who works on the sets” but is not allowed to show them because the person who worked on them would be in trouble (obviously). LEGO The Lord of the Rings The Council of Elrond (79006) Review

One iconic scene in The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring takes place at the home of the Elves at Rivendell. The Council of Elrond (79006) set recreates the scene in the movie where the Council discusses what to do with the One Ring. The scene also is the origin of one of the best memes created. This set contains 243 pieces and retails for $29.99 which comes out to about $0.12/piece. The box contains two numbered bags, one instruction booklet, and one small sticker sheet.
