Roller Coaster Factory Now Available for Pre-order

During Brickworld Chicago 2013, the guys over at CoasterDynamix unveiled their newest product, the X-Labs Roller Coaster Factory (110171-A). Adam Reed Tucker, the creator of the LEGO Architecture Series, along with engineers at CoasterDynamix have been developing the product for three years to create the a realistic roller coaster set that will be able to integrate with your LEGO bricks. The limited edition set is now available for pre-order and only 1000 sets will be made so get yours today before stock runs out. The pre-order is on a first-come, first-served basis and will be shipping in 4-6 week. I, for one, was excited to see the Roller Coaster Factory when it was shown at Brickworld and I’m impressed with the price point and all of the pieces you get. I’ve already pre-ordered it and looking forward to doing a review on it when it comes in.

Note: On the parts image, notice that the Technic Chain Link is not included to pull the cars.

The LEGO Movie Trailer

The LEGO Movie Poster (Bigger Version)

Warner Brothers has released a teaser trailer for The LEGO Movie that will be coming out February 14, 2014. The movie features many big name stars including Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, and Nick Offerman.

The first-ever full length featured film centers around Emmet who will be saving the world from total destruction. The trailer shows many minifigures from different LEGO sets being introduced by Vitruvius voiced by Freeman. He also says that they “have learned that Lord Business plans to end the world as we know it. There is yet one hope. The ‘Special’ as arisen.” The scene then pans to Emmet voiced by Pratt who has no idea what is going on. The trailer then shows a lot of amazing action sequences using stop-motion animation as well as CGI. You also get a glimpse of Lucy, played by Banks, who might be the love interest of the hero.

International Version

The LEGO Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Emmet (Chris Pratt) is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously under prepared.

Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie join Chris Pratt to form the cast of the first-ever full length theatrical LEGO movie, the greatest movie ever assembled, which is

Brick Fanatics is reporting that The Daily Mail newspaper will be giving out FREE LEGO polybags with their paper on upcoming dates in June. In this new promotion, you will be able to get the LEGO The Hobbit Gandalf at Dol Guldur Polybag (30213) on Saturday, June 29th and the LEGO Creator Little Car (30183) on Sunday, June 30th. There’s no additional information about the promotion at this time but I’m sure Richard over at Brick Fanatics will have the news as soon as it becomes available.

The polybag contains five pieces. The cape is not protected by any cardboard. The design of Jor-El looks very similar to Superman with some subtle differences. The whole costume is a little bit darker blue than his son’s. However, the “S” emblem on the middle of the chest is of brown. His cape is also brown colored instead of the red that superman has. Jor-El has a single-sided head with a serious expression. He has a full beard that is brown and grey. The hairpiece is also brown.

The Jor-El minifigure is a very nice addition to any LEGO collection. Although the design is similar to Superman, the differences he has makes him a unique minifigure. Again, the minifigure is a bonus exclusive when you spend over $75 at LEGO stores and Shop@Homeicon. The summer wave sets of many LEGO themes have been released so it can be pretty easy to get a couple of the polybags.
