LEGO Creator Fiat 500 (10271) Review

LEGO Creator Fiat 500 (10271)

At the end of last month, LEGO launched the LEGO Creator Fiat 500 (10271) which was pretty unexpected as the official announcement for it was earlier the same day. LEGO has had an affinity with European vehicles and the Fiat 500 is the latest addition to the lineup. The set has 960 pieces and retails for a modest $89.99. The content of the box include nine bags numbered to three, a bagged sunroof, and the instruction booklet along with the stickers.

LEGO Eiffel Tower Magnet Build (854011) Review

LEGO Eiffel Tower Magnet Build (854011)

Releasing in a few days is a new LEGO Eiffel Tower Magnet Build (854011) that will be available for $9.99. LEGO has kind enough to send one of these sets over to check out a little early. It has 29 pieces and it features Paris’ most well known landmark. I’m not sure why LEGO chose this particular landmark to make a set out of but hopefully they continue with it.

The build is extremely simply but there are some nice pieces included with it mainly the 4x4x1 magnet brick. The cloud piece and green blade gives the Eiffel Tower a nice background scenery. The bonjour plaque on the bottom is a sticker so that’s up to you if you want to put it on or not.

These kind of sets are very miscellaneous and it caters to a very niche market. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it but if you’ve been to Paris and would like a memento, this Eiffel Tower Magnet Build (854011) would be a decent item. The set will be available starting on March 1.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.

LEGO Newsstand Review & Building Instructions

The LEGO Newsstand Building Event was held at LEGO Brand Stores yesterday and I was able to attend my store to build it and take home. I was also allowed to take the building instructions with me so I can scan it and share with you guys who weren’t able to attend. As far as parts are concerned, I believe the 1×6 sand blue plates are exclusive. There were sand blue plates released before but they were last used in 2003. Some of the other sand blue pieces used were only in the LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) and LEGO Hidden Side Shrimp Shack Attack (70422). As for the purpose of the build, my store didn’t have the 1×6 plates and they substituted dark gray ones for them which was a bummer. I’m not sure if other stores had the same issue or not.

The build itself is pretty cool and it complements the new LEGO Creator Bookshop (10270) very well. I will say the instructions could have been better. Steps 3 and 4 as well as 9 and 10 could have been separated by each shelf. The shelves are very flimsy and it would have been better to put the items for each shelf instead of building the shelves first then putting all the items on. All in all, getting this 155 piece set for free was awesome since it would have probably cost $10-15 if LEGO sold it by itself. Below are the building instructions for the set which you save.… Continue
