LEGO The Hobbit Witch-king Battle (79015)

The new LEGO The Hobbit sets are now available on Shop@Home. In this wave, there are four sets to coincide with the upcoming The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies movie that will be coming out in December. We now also get to see the official images as well as the descriptions of the sets which we’ve been holding off on because of the embargo that was on them. Check out the four sets below.

Remember the October 2014 promos for Double VIP Points as well as the LEGO Creator Holiday Toy Workshop (40106) is still going on until the end of the month. You will also get a LEGO The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug poster with a purchase of any of the new sets. The poster is from last year but a freebie is a freebie.

Witch-king Battle (79015)

Take on the evil Witch-king at the fortress of Dol Guldur!

Galadriel™ and Elrond™ have ventured to the evil fortress of Dol Guldur where they are attacked by the ghostly Witch-king. Help our heroes to battle this vicious crowned foe with the glow-in-the-dark head. Reverse the faces of Elrond™ and Galadriel™ and use Galadriel’s Elven magic and The Light of Eärendil to overcome his evil powers. Evade fireballs shot from the catapult and connect all the skeleton bones to create an extra figure! Use Elrond’s golden sword to duel against the Witch-king who is spinning on the rotating platform for extra power. Who will triumph in this tense battle between good and evil?

LEGO The Hobbit The Battle of Five Armies (79017) Set Details

I’ve gotten a few emails from readers informing me that some images of the new LEGO The Hobbit The Battle of Five Armies (79017) have surfaced. I have seen the images and the reason why I didn’t post them is because there’s an embargo on the images of the sets until October but if you search around some LEGO forums, you can probably find the images yourselves. That doesn’t stop me from describing them though.

The set is pretty much a small bridge with a tower being attacked by a ballista that shoots two projectiles. The minifigures that are included are Thorin Oakenshiled, Legolas Greenleaf, Dain Ironfoot, Bard the Bowman, Azog, and two Gundabad Orcs. The eagle that is also in the set is Gwaihir. Also as mentioned before, the Bard minifigure is the same one from San Diego Comic Con. Probably the best part of the set is the Thorin minifigure with his new torso printing, helmet/hair piece, and gold sword.

As mentioned before in a previous post, The Battle of Five Armies (79017) contains 472 pieces and will retail for about $59.99.

Other things that are seen in the images are the minifigures from the other sets in the wave.

Images of LEGO The Hobbit October 2014 Wave Surfaces

Lord of the Brick has revealed 3 images of the box art for the new LEGO The Hobbit sets that will be released this October in addition to The Lonely Mountain (79018). Some of these sets were first reported at the 2014 London Toy Fair. Below we see the Witch-king Battle (79015) which has 101 pieces and includes Elrond, Galadriel, and the Witch-king of Angmar. It is reported this set will go for around $14.99.

The Attack on Lake-town (79016) has 313 pieces and will retail for $29.99. There are 5 minifigures in this set including Bard the Bowman, Bain, Tauriel, and 2 orcs. This version of Bard is not the one from San Diego Comic Con.

Finally, we have The Battle of Five Armies (79017). It has 472 pieces and will retail for about $59.99. From what I can see, there are 7 minifigures in this set including Bard, Dain II Ironfoot, Azog, two orcs, two unknown minifigures, and an eagle. It looks like the Bard from SDCC is in this set.

Update: Images removed per LEGO’s request.
